My husband is very thorough and reads everything. If you can't beat em... We were there for 6.5 hours and we had to skip the latter 3 videos. A lot of people were going around a lot faster. We spent 2.5 hours in the nelson mandela section. I'd say if you're interested in the history and want more than a taster then allow a whole day

The museum itself is rather simple but very complete in infos and visuals and not too big so the tour doesn't take too long. I could learn so much about such a sensitive topic, get immersed into that time and try to understand how they felt and what they suffered, and find my answers to the questions I had and didn't dare to ask people around. Understanding helps building more respect towards certain subjects and people. A very necessary visit if you appreciate South Africa.

It was pleasure to visit the museum. I was touched by the struggle people went through to be what they are today. Well designed museum is of international standards and content writer should be appreciated for choice of words and precise writing.

Amazingly curated, this museum tells the history of Apartheid in a straightforward manner, trying to cover most of the oppression from every angle. One of the best museums I've ever visited.
