Conveniently located off AK 1 and very near a Fred Meyer for groceries/gas. The staff was friendly. Hotel itself is older and room decor was dated and plain. We stayed in a suite which included a sofa, small frig and very small microwave oven. Our room was clean and bed was comfortable. We stayed in March during covid-19 restrictions so they did not offer breakfast. Coffee was available in the lobby. Winter rates were great - around $60/night for our extended stay to visit family in area. These are challenging times and hotel appears to be trying their best. We were grateful to have this option for our visit.

We enjoyed trips to the Matanuska Glacier, Hatcher Pass and Girdwood. Alaska is beautiful!

Room tip: Avoid rooms by laundry, ice maker. Rooms 200-205 on our floor would be better.

For a $100 a night suite I expect a lot more. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything the people in the next room are doing. I had to go down to the front desk at 3 a.m. to have them tell the guests in the next room to turn off the tv so we could sleep. This chain still does not offer anything for breakfast nor do they service the rooms daily citing civid 19 as an excuse. I have stayed at other chains recently and they have adapted but not this one! Also, the carpet was stained, the drapes were torn and tattered, the bathtub was chipped, the couch was broken down and sagging, the tv was the size of a postage stamp and the remote didn’t work...all in all an awful place to stay!

The Microtel Eagle River was a good place to stay in Alaska. Convenient to the AK1 highway. The rooms are good and clean, and there is hot coffee, tea, and decaf available 24/7 in the Lobby. The Wi-Fi is of decent speed that you are actually able to get work done. The staff i friendly and helpful.

good location but the beds were hard to sleep on. one of the beds had a sump in it so you had to try to sleep on one side or fall in a hold on the other side other than that i guess the stay was all right

I stayed here for two weeks.
Remember, it’s a Microtel & not a 5 star, overpriced hotel.
The room was clean and spacious and housekeeping were always pleasant.
Every interaction with the front desk was met with a smile and total satisfaction.
I helped myself to the complimentary breakfast on a few occasions and, although it is basic, it is free and fresh.
There are laundry facilities onsite. You need a few quarters to use.
There was plenty of parking available around the building and the location is easily within walking distance to the centre of Eagle River. Fred Meyers is about 5 minutes walk away.
I had no issues with my stay and would readily return.
I’m already planning to stay in 2020.
