My girlfriend and I just returned from a 10 day stay at the Jardin del Eden and we loved it! It was removed from the crazy hustle and bustle of Tamarindo far enough to be a relaxing paradise but close enough to walk the path in less than a minute. We especially enjoyed the private beach garden so we could enjoy the beach without talking to every hustler there. Endy the bartender made our every wish come true and provided true 5 star experience. Enrique the manager was the most accommodating person on the planet making our stay more enjoyable every step of the way.

Room Tip: Room 40 is perfectly situated close to the pool, bar and the path to the beach.

We stayed at Jardin del Eden in August, what is considered the “slow season” for Costa Rica tourism. The weather was beautiful! In the mornings there would be sun, and temps not too high; in the afternoon it would rain – beautiful thunder storms!
Each day started with a breakfast of fresh fruit, coffee, and a “typico” plate of eggs, beans and rice, plantains, cheese, and a flour tortilla. Endy and the women who serve breakfast are lovely! So hospitable! They felt like family by day 2. After breakfast we’d lounge by the pool – GORGEOUS pool! So many flowers, birds, and plants! It truly does feel like Eden. There are cabanas with comfy mattresses and curtains if you want to take a siesta. We used the cabanas for playing cards during the rain storms. The walk to the beach is magical – and the hotel has a sweet little beach front lot with lounge chairs, umbrellas, bathrooms, and what looks to be an upcoming bar (they were building it).
The little town, just a walkway’s distance from the hotel, offers a variety of restaurants and shops – but we highly recommend renting a car and getting out to see the country. Excursions from the hotel were easy with a map. The front desk can arrange activities for you if you’d like (zip-lining, horseback riding, white water tubing, etc.). It is a beautiful country and the people are friendly (attempt to speak Spanish if you can … Gringos are not appreciated too much, no matter how much you tip).
Try to book a room with an ocean view – it is worth the extra money. Housekeeping kept the room fresh and tidy; grounds keepers were as busy as the bees and hummingbirds on the property; front desk was polite and helpful. The place runs seamlessly – everything is beautifully in place and again, the staff is very kind. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Ocean view with a balcony

We stayed here for four nights. It was excellent. The road was nicely paved from Liberia Airport, a bit windy/hilly but nothing too crazy. The driveway back to the hotel is unpaved and tricky to find, but we used a GPS. The front desk was there for us as we arrived late around 11;30pm. The hotel was quiet and peaceful, beautiful gardens, nice pool, great complimentary breakfast. I brought beer from the grocery store down the street to the pool, staff did not seem mind/notice despite the pool rules of no outside food/bev. The town of Tamarindo was fun, took a surf lessons at Witchs Rock and walked across town to eat at the Shrimp Hole!

Jardin Del Eden was an incredible resort! The gardens, pool, hotel, rooms, and restaurant are all beautiful. The view from our hotel room was breathtaking. The resort is not directly downtown and that is PERFECT because you are able to have a romantic getaway without the noise and busy lifestyle of downtown Tamarindo. There is a walk way that takes you directly downtown and you also have a private chaired area on the beach. The staff at Jardin Del Eden was incredibly friendly and amazing, they always made sure we were happy and taken care of. My husband and I loved the resort and will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor have better views.

My wife and I stayed at the Jardin del Eden for a week. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. The pool is amazing, we only ate at the restaurant for breakfast but it was amazing. Definitely a great place to stay in Tamarindo.
