Our family (4 children, ages 12-18) went to Playa Conchal for spring break and we had a fantastic experience. The staff at the resort was incredibly responsive and accommodating and the resort truly had everything we needed. The food was great, the amenities were terrific, and, the staff made all the difference.

We also highly recommend Marizio Silva from Authentico for excursions. All of our excursions with Marizio were fantastic - his personalization and customization of trips was tremendous - and we did everything we wanted to do with him - ziplining, mud baths, waterfalls, snorkeling, rainforest (and we all held sloths!). He is also extremely reasonably priced - and generous with his time and resources. One of the highlights for the kids was stopping on the side of the road for freshly grilled corn on the cob which Marizio bought for all of us.

We brought our family of six (four teenagers) to the Westin for our spring break last week and we had a tremendous experience. There are plenty of great hotels in amazing locations but the hotel experience always come down to the staff -- and the Westin staff was fantastic. They were friendly, accommodating and were able to take care of every request we had. The wait staff at all the restaurants was top notch, the front desk staff, particularly Yovan, took care of a room change with zero issue and Mazel with the concierge was tireless in supporting us. This was even more impressive as the resort was at full capacity with Holy Week. Food was excellent, the resort grounds were great and the pools were very nice. A fantastic visit all around.

We would also highly recommend using Authentico Tours, run by Marizio Silva, for any excursions. He took care of our snorkeling, Mega Combo, waterfall and rain forest trips. He even arranged for all of us to hold a sloth! He's a tremendous person who really goes out of his way to connect with his clients. Unbelievably friendly and personable! His rates are extremely reasonable and you are the only people on the tour with him....a level of service that's unbeatable! Our family has varying needs and interests and Marizio hit it out of the park with every one of them! He's awesome.

We had a junior suite for our family. The bathroom had no door separating it from the main room. If you walked out of the shower, you were on full display unless you had a towel wrapped around your body. The hotel staffed informed us that there are no doors in any of the bathrooms in the more expensive rooms?!?!?!
The food is overall very good in the restaurants. The buffet and general dining areas are average at best.

We just got back from a week at the Westin along with 2 other families ages from 5-70+.. and we all loved everything from the beach to the pool, to the activity center, the people, the rooms were perfect... spacious and updated with balcony’s. The food was amazing! Our favs were the Costa Rican (Las Candelas I think it was and William our Waite), the Mediterranean and the Italian. Never had an issue with getting reservations and resort was completely full. Even the nights we ate at the buffet were wonderful! We will definitely be back!

We stayed March 25 - April 1 at the Westin. We loved the resort for our 2 adults and our 12 year old. We had a family club room in bungalow 39. Family Club made reservations for us and eliminated the towel card nonsense. Resort didn't seem crowded like other all inclusive properties. Spread out but not a need for all of the golf carts. We didn't use them other than for check in and out. Would prefer less cart traffic as an improvement.

Food was outstanding. Tons of option including great healthy choices! We went to all of the restaurants and it's hard to pick a favorite. Buffet for breakfast and lunch was also great. Family club got us in the air conditioning which at lunch was a nice perk.

Property is beautiful. Loved the wildlife including monkeys in the mango tree by the beach. Employees spoke wonderful English - kudos to all of you!

We went on a beautiful 2-6pm sunrise board excursion through Swiss Travel. At check-out they billed us for another activity which seemed like an attempt at fraud vs. an innocent error so check your bill. Erik Garcia on the beach helped my husband with a cab to Las Catalinas which had the best rate and was on time early in the morning to bicycle at PuraVidaRide.com. Erik looked out for our family on the beach and is a trusted resource we'd recommend to other families.

The resort is a drive from rainforest excursions given roads are slow. When we return we'd do a few nights at a resort in the rainforest and then return to the Westin to enjoy the beach and ocean. We swam every day in the ocean. Free kayaks and great Westin beach concierge service but Westin doesn't serve alcohol on the beach.

Pool was huge with a fun swim-up bar. There is a separate adult pool for Westin Tower Royal Beach Club guests. Even without our daughter I prefer our location in the Family Club bungalows which were a short walk from the beach, restaurants etc.

Awesome spring break trip! Pura Vida to this beautiful country with friendly people where we soaked up the sun and had an amazing time!

Room Tip: Family Club rooms are in a great location! Bungalows are two levels. Top floor is more quiet and private.
