We spent two nights at the Lost Iguana in August 2018. The luxury suite was spacious with a comfortable king bed, outdoor bath and shower, small refrigerator, porch, and view of the volcano. We found the staff to be generally kind and helpful. As others have mentioned, the breakfast buffet was not always refilled, but we enjoyed the selection and quality. The grounds are lovely but not suited to those with even minor mobility issues. The hotel store offers high quality and reasonably priced souvenirs. Strongly recommend.

Sitting right in the shadow of Arenal, we were lucky enough to see the top three mornings in a row. Hanging bridges tour, the hike of Arenal and zip lining all within a ten minute radius, you’d never know it once you’re on the property. Impossible roads wind up from the lake to this unbelievably beautiful spot. The food was great and the entire staff was super helpful and accommodating. We did a guided birding tour on the grounds and saw toucans, a bunch of different hummingbirds and range of really cool birds. We will be sad to leave ~ Pura Vida:)

We stayed at Lost Iguana for 3 nights and had 2 luxury suites. The hotel in itself is very beautiful and the views both from the rooms and the restaurant were breathtaking. Beds were spacious and comfortable.

Nevertheless, the hotel had some serious drawbacks, primarily linked to organization. The Wi-Fi was very bad to non-existent in one of the rooms. We called the reception in order to inform them of the issue and they told us they would speak to the Wi-Fi technician. It seems that nothing had been done as the Wi-Fi was just as bad as before, all throughout our stay.
The same room suffered from a humidity issue, as the smell was the first thing one could notice as soon as they entered. We raised the issue and were given a humidifier, that was working perfectly and combined with the air-conditioning eliminated the issue. But the humidifier became full in a day. Housekeeping did not remove the water during daily cleaning, so the humidifier was useless.
Breakfast, while being served with an amazing view of the Arenal volcano, did not live up to the expectations. The choice was quite limited, and nothing was refilled if not asked by the guests.
Moreover, the bar hours were not respected by the personnel.

To sum up, Lost Iguana has huge potential but suffers from bad management and service. If these issues were tobe resolved it would be a great resort.

Can’t say enough good things. The grounds are spectacular. The family room w two bedrooms was perfect. We all enjoyed the open shower and the porch rocking chairs and view. The staff was so kind and enjoyed letting our kids practice their Spanish- and was patient with my attempts as well ;). The restaurant was great and the hot pool with a swim up bar/food service was heavenly. You are away from the tourist bustle and right in the rainforest. Enjoy the even serenade from the frogs and other little critters

This is a great hotel, in a lovely setting right by Lake Arenal, about 25 minutes from La Fortuna. The grounds are amazing, and there is a trail around the property. Also, right by the hanging bridge park.
Breakfast is delicious!! Dinner is so-so. We did not have a car, but planned our activities so we would be out for dinner.
Staff is wonderful and very helpful, as is everyone in La Fortuna that we met! Did not hit the spa, but the pools were very nice. Would definatly stay again!
