In order to avoid missing a flight due to the daunting Costa Rican traffic, this property is located close to the airport. It's a reasonably priced, very adequate and friendly place to stay overnight. Complimentary airport shuttle is provided

The hotel is nice and well located next to the airport and the rental cars companies (don’t rent it at the airport).
The outstanding point of this hotel is the breakfast and the chef staff. The will receive you with a smile and give you plenty of food to go out and experience Costa Rica. Congratulations for them!

There is nothing more important for us than our guests' total comfort and satisfaction, so we do everything we can to ensure that they have everything they need and that they feel more than welcome and right at home. We are also very glad that you found our location so convenient, not only due to the fact that we are less than a mile from the airport but because we are just across our parking lot from several car rentals, from a couple of restaurants and from a casino.

Directly opposite the airport, the hotel couldn’t be more convenient for late night arrivals or early departures. The hotel has a regular, free shuttle to and from the airport. There are two catering outlets adjacent (one a Dennys) plus there is an adjacent casino.
The hotel has a large pool but with limited shade.
There is also a tour desk for those looking for a trip.
Our room on the second floor smelled musty and the hair dryer was broken both of which reflect the fact that the hotel is looking a bit tired once you get beyond the pleasant public areas.
A small bar stays open until 23:00 hours.
As with most tourist places in Costa Rica prices are quoted in US dollars but charged in colones.
At 19:30 there is a free shuttle to the nearby Plaza Real, a large, new development of scores of fast food outlets around a large cinema complex. With the only return shuttle at 21:00 there is barely enough time to look around and eat as well.

Dear Travlintone, thank you so much for posting your very detailed comments about your stay at our hotel.

There is nothing we want more than our guests' total comfort and satisfaction so we are a little distraught that even though your stay was very comfortable and that you liked our services so much (like our free 24 hour shuttle transportation to and from the airport and the free shuttle to and from the mall among many others), and found our location so convenient (we are less than a mile from the airport and right across our parking lot from several car rentals, a couple of restaurants and from a casino just as you mentioned) you found our hotel to be "tired". Please accept our apologies for the smell in the yuour room and that the hair dryer was broken. We assure you that our Brand's quality standards are very high and strict so we are going to immediately investigate how was it possible the we were not aware of that before. Also, if you had let our front desk staff know about it, they would have immediately send someone to do something about the musty smell, and a technician to fix the hair dryer. If you would still feel not completely satisfied with the room, they would have immediately changed you to another one. We are also sorry that you felt that the shuttle's schedule for the pick up at the mall did not allowed you with enough time to do everything you wanted. We are going to share your comments about this with our Management to see if they can take them into account.

We had to stay here when our flight was cancelled and rescheduled for the following day. To be honest, I cannot say anything about the reviews that say it's overpriced, as American Airlines covered the night for us.
What I can say is that this is a very good airport hotel, definitely much better than the one of our choice that we stayed at the previous night. The room was the right size, the bathroom really clean and organised, they gave us vouchers for discounted dinner, the included breakfast included waffles, and on top of all of that you get a drink on arrival, friendly reception staff, and transfers to/from the airport. I couldn't have asked for anything better.

Friendliest, fastest, most efficient check-in to date! I wish I had gotten the name of the front desk clerk, he created a sense of caring that is rare. He was also fun and made check-in seem effortless. The entire hotel staff was really welcoming. I had an issue with the lock on my door and I called the front desk and by the time I hang up the phone, maintenance was at my door with the right tools and made it work in a matter of minutes. I’m waiting for my next layover in Costa Rica, so I can visit the Airport Holiday Inn Express again!
