The Restaurant is one of the best dining options one has when in Shanghai - it has it all - service, food and ambience not to forget - for shanghai - reasonable prices. I have been to Cuivre many times - last just few days ago - because it is THE value for money in Shanghai. Chef Michael - still unsure if he is Swiss, German or French - leads the kitchen and recently has come out with great dishes. The lamb casserole is top ! The starters - i prefer the escargots but many other choices there. Then wine list - hourrrra - for once one does not get killed on price tag for some generally average wine ! Well done. Fanny - Maitre de salle and chief of all - with a great smile - is perfect setting for a great dinner in Shanghai!

My husband and I dined at Cuivre after reading about the restaurant on several sites. It did not disappoint! The menu is thoughtful and innovative. The “Onion” starter was amazing and one of the most creative dishes I’ve ever had. Our main courses of Australian beef flap and St. Jacques (scallops) were delicious. For dessert we had the mousse au chocolat and creme brûlée. They were both fantastic but the creme brûlée was one of the best we’ve ever had. Make sure to visit the Former French concession area and dine at Cuivre for a fantastic experience!

We had such an amazing brunch here last Easter, including the best French Toast I'd ever had, that we invited several of our friends to join us again last weekend. Sadly, it didn't live up to expectations in any way.

The deal is three items for 188 RMB. Not cheap, but not excessive in this city.

I had the smoked salmon, eggs benedict and french toast. The smoked salmon had clearly been prepped the day before, covered in oil and shoved in the refrigerator. The eggs benedict was just runny eggs overflowing with Hollandaise, on a tiny bun. And the French Toast, which was so amazing last time, was just a squashed croissant with a caramelized top. Weak.

The entire group was disappointed. And I was kind of embarassed at recommending the place.

The atmosphere is great. The restaurant is lovely. The service was acceptable. But the food was very poor. We won't be back.

The service delivered form Fanny & the team handling a mixed requirements with on points recommendations on the specials to share for the table of 5-6 persons always managing everyone's requirements & taste, in addition to always making excellent wine recommendations- Thank you !

I enjoyed dinners, brunches and private functions at Cuivre over the past years and the managing owners Fanny and Michael have never disappointed. While Fanny and her team passionately taking care of the service in the copper (French: cuivre) themed dining area, Michael and his chefs creating the culinary delights for their customers in the kitchen. Menu is easy to understand and to relate to, dishes are creative and very tasty, and the produce quality is top. Michael changes the menu frequently, introducing new dishes to keep the regulars happy and Fanny takes care of the very reasonably priced wine list. - It's going to be a fantastic experience, if you fancy excellent French cuisine, while not having to take up a mortgage on your house to pay for the bill. - Enjoy!
