I always do this type of tour in a big city and have done many in my time. This experience was a bit of a let down. The bus stopped at places for at least 15 minutes which you were not informed about. Had we known, we could have got off and purchased food or drinks or avoided this stop all together by walking to the next. Other hop on hop off trips I have done have a time table so you have a fair idea of when the next bus will be around. This didn't, so it meant we had to wait on several occasions which wasted our limited time in the wonderful city of Shanghai.
The commentary was clear in English and 7 other languages however my parter found it too loud even on the lowest setting so he didn't listen. I would have loved more information. I have been on sightseeing buses that give information about the history of the city, population, quirky facts, etc, and this was missing. The commentary really only just pointed out the basic sights and that was all.
Not having been to Shanghai it was good to get orientated but I think we could have seen more, more quickly if we had used the metro system.
