We have been here before and thought it beautiful. Barbara, my wife, was able to wade almost out to the middle of the river last time but this time was a different story. The river was a great torrent and the falls truly roared. The mist rising from the falls was beautiful. It is the same place but so different from a little rain to a lot.

The falls are absolutely breathtaking! The river is very peaceful to sit and watch. The pedestrian bridge offers wonderful views. The picnic area/pavilion is clean.

I took my grandchildren ages 3&9 - what a great experience for them! I was traveling alone and felt very safe - was greeted by the attendant as soon as we arrived which totally helped ease my concerns about taking young children to a water fall - well done!

We were going from point A to point B and found ourselves close to High Falls Park. We had heard about the Park from a news article on a local channel and since we were close we would give it a try with no expectations. It was a WONDERFUL surprise. The way there is picturesque and wonderful. When we are so used to expressways, stoplights, heavy traffic this was a wonderful trip down narrow roads deep in the country. When we arrived the welcome center was even a greater surprise. It appeared new and was spotless. The restrooms were clean and the person in the office was warm, friendly, and answered all of our questions and was glad to do so. We went down the road to the falls and it really is one of those sights that you just have to see. There had been much rain of late and the falls were in full flow as was the river that led to the falls but the river you can wade in from one side to the other. The bridge across the river gives a great view both up stream and down. Take a look at the pictures but remember, they may look good by the only way to really see High Falls is to take a Side Trip. You will be genuinely pleased.

Another beautiful place to visit if you're in the area - High Falls was showing off after several days of rain and we were blessed to see her in her glory. Recommend making it a stop off if you are around DeSoto State Park and are into waterfalls. Small county park "store" to leave a donation, a nice bridge, and if you work at it you can get a few shots of the falls. Was told during a drought there will not be a drop over the falls...timing is important.
