Positives: good breakfast buffet, good/attentive service, has a pool, and is reasonably priced for a major city.

Negatives: location isn’t that central (besides the Gate of India nothing else is really walking distance), the rooms are small and need updating.

Let me start with the positives: 1). Excellent location and 2) Food is good.
Things that went wrong: We travelled with around 6-8 people of our organisation. It was an official trip of around 5-6 nights stay. Some of us stayed in single occupancy and few (with family) in double occupancy. The rooms given to a single person and a family were same. They expected that the same room can accommodate a family (even after paying extra for the double occupancy). The room given to us was not fully ready (even though we checked in around 5 pm). Every time we had to call the reception to get the necessary things (like water, menu, toiletries etc.). So the first day impression of the hotel was like they failed badly on both the accounts whether somebody is on a family trip or on a business trip. The next day the hotel staff showed us good gesture by changing our room. The next room was much better though the bed size remained same. The funny and irritating part was the manager who was adamant that the bed was a proper king size bed (I even asked him to have a look at the room). I assumed he didn't know the difference b/w King and queen size bed. Think twice before ordering food to your room (unless you are on official trip). A bowl of Khichdi for our baby costed us around Rs 900. The hotel doesn't have their own parking place (it is also mentioned on their website) but they will do whatever it takes to take care of your car. The things turned out to be worst when one of our colleague was supposed to check out one day before us (it was booked like that). We had a get together and a dinner fully sponsored by our organisation the previous night for which the payment was made as soon as the party was over. The hotel had such a pathetic coordination between their departments that the person at reception was completely unaware of what is happening or happened at their accounts department. So our colleague whose age is 65+ and is a respected figure in our area was detained and not allowed to leave the hotel because as per the receptionist the payment for the previous night dinner was not made. Our colleague put an request for checkout around 7 in the morning. The manager went on to the extent to order their security guard to handle the matter. This went on for 2 hrs and my colleague was late for that day official work. Luckily he had some work in Mumbai and was expected to leave in the evening. What if he had a flight to catch in the morning. Who would have taken the responsibility of this mess and if he had missed the flight. The manager sent an apology letter later in the afternoon that the payment was actually made but they did not know. I would have expected these things if they had charged 1/10th of what they charged us. Good luck

On arrival we were told that they had upgraded our room. This proved to be a mistake as the room had a scruffy plastic curtain around the bath/shower. We requested a room with a shower and were moved. Small room with a dirty shower. We stayed in five hotels around India and with one exception dirty bathrooms seemed to be the norm. Bar fridge did not work. Location not bad.
There is no Pub/Bar in the hotel and you can only get a beer if you sit in the restaurant. The buffet was mainly vegetarian and grossly overpriced. This hotel is sadly in need of an upgrade.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights to end of stay in India.
We have been to 6 hotels during our stay in India and this is the second hotel where we have been which made us feel that guests are of key importance.
Greetings while you get down from your car till the reception.
What made me feel very comfortable is Mrs Sushma.
She has been very kind, polite, wore a huge smile.
The way she treated us made us feel, we had a sense of belonging.
She provided us with useful important information and also gave us a copy of the map so that we do not get lost while walking around.
The hotel is secured and well located. Its walking distance to Gateway and most shopping places, Colaba market, colaba causeway-a must to do for shopping im Mumbai.
Most staff are always smiling. There was a nice guy at the Bell Counter but I cant remember his name, he looked young and was very very helpful and always smiling and greeting.
Room was not as seen on pictures, they are very small. The bed was ok but bathroom looked old. You can hear the noise on the road in the bathroom.But yet, you get hot water all the time.
The restaurant is very cosy and you can enjoy a good breakfast.
I can say food is very good and service was good.
What we didnt appreciate is the Front Office guy Vicas.
He is rude. We requested him for a wake up call and he replied, you are going out, remind me later. He was in a rush and was not willing to listen to us. We are people working in the hospitality industry, we know the standards at the tip of our fingers, so we expect that we are treated like we treat our guests in our country. As we had to leave early to catch our plane, we asked for a packed breakfast.He mentioned to
Us that same would be organised for 6am. At 7am while checking out, we asked the reception guy if it was ready, he asked to go to the restaurant and ask them what we would like to have. Reaching there, the guy told us we have to consume here and he did not get instructions from the Duty Manager. This was not good. After a call, he have been able to take a toast and sandwich. I dont know if it was lack of information but was not appreciated as we were to leave the hotel with good memories.

Fariyas hotel Mumbai is good for stay here. Staff are working helpful and friendly too. Room is good and room services also very nice. Facilities are good. We had good experience here. Food are tasty and good.
