In the last one year, I have probably dined at multiple fine dining restaurants (5stars and others) and in my experience there are very few 5 star fine dining experiences in India that come even any where near being called fine dining - Orient Express thankfully has been and remains an exception.

Fine dining constitutes - Ambience, An attentive service, stand out culinary experience packed in one, and of course this package all in one comes at a Cost and so does a meal at Orient Express. A dinner for two can burn a significant hole in your pocket, but if you can afford, It is worth the experience.

Ambience - Will take you back to the old Victorian era carriages converted into a diner and for a while you will forget time. Live music will add flavour to the evening. As the evening wears on the crowd increases, given the size of the carriage it tends to get a bit noisy, but you are lost in your own conversations.

Service - Is by far the best you are going to find anywhere in Delhi. The attention to details and the way your server can read what is on your mind will make u feel pampered.

Food - Cooked to perfection. There are very few options if you are a vegetarian. The starters and palate cleaners in between courses are delightful. The morel soup will blow you over. We had a wild mushroom risotto in white wine reduction with truffle shavings on top and I can still savour the taste on my palate. The desserts are all great.

Looking to returning back again soon.

The restaurant is set in the"dining coach" of the Orient Express and hence suitable for small group of people. The service is top of the world, with wait staff appearing at your side, as you just turn your head for something. The sheer attention bestowed on the diners and their every need makes this an experience to cherish. Food is made as per your desire and often you get a visit from the chef, asking about the taste. (which is superlative - to say the least)

We had a wonderful experience here in the Orient Express restaurant. The food was truly exceptional & the level of service simply excellent - especially from the manager who really did a superb job of looking after us. All food consumed was of a very high quality and beautifully presented. The lobster bisque was rich & tasty & the cheese soufflé amazingly light & delicious. The ambience is delightful with a wonderful atmosphere & supreme comfort. When you are fed up with Indian food this place will deliver a unique dining experience. Highly recommended indeed - do not miss.

We have been to this restaurant on five previous occasions and have never been disappointed - indeed it has been at the opposite end of the satisfaction spectrum - the meals we have experienced have been quite exquisite and truly memorable. We therefore had no hesitation to pay another visit during our present trip to India, Bhutan and Nepal.

The setting for the "restaurant" is a modified carriage from the Orient Express and the staff are duly attired and attentive. We opted on this occasion to go for a four course meal and the food taste was truly wonderful and artistically presented. It is worth pointing out that this is not a cheap experience......with wine our bill for two was about £250 but this does actually represent value for money. We shall certainly go back on our next visit.

I have to say this is a true 5 Star Restaurant. Not only was the food 5 star but the service, wine and location was also.
Make sure you have your credit card as it is not cheap but as a special treat, 100% recommend.
Food portions very good for this style of restaurant, fresh, beautiful flavours and presentation.
