In the last one year, I have probably dined at multiple fine dining restaurants (5stars and others) and in my experience there are very few 5 star fine dining experiences in India that come even any where near being called fine dining - Orient Express thankfully has been and remains an exception.
Fine dining constitutes - Ambience, An attentive service, stand out culinary experience packed in one, and of course this package all in one comes at a Cost and so does a meal at Orient Express. A dinner for two can burn a significant hole in your pocket, but if you can afford, It is worth the experience.
Ambience - Will take you back to the old Victorian era carriages converted into a diner and for a while you will forget time. Live music will add flavour to the evening. As the evening wears on the crowd increases, given the size of the carriage it tends to get a bit noisy, but you are lost in your own conversations.
Service - Is by far the best you are going to find anywhere in Delhi. The attention to details and the way your server can read what is on your mind will make u feel pampered.
Food - Cooked to perfection. There are very few options if you are a vegetarian. The starters and palate cleaners in between courses are delightful. The morel soup will blow you over. We had a wild mushroom risotto in white wine reduction with truffle shavings on top and I can still savour the taste on my palate. The desserts are all great.
Looking to returning back again soon.
