Very smart clear hotel, good rooms, breakfast and evening meal buffet. Plus good working lift system. Curious design similar to the Hilton in Prague with the rooms in a square with a central open area. Staff are polite and helpful. Kingfisher beer was 350 Rupees. A good port of call after a long flight from the UK!
It is conventionally located for the Parliament buildings and India Gate - plus the National Museum that I missed as someone told that it would be closed due to a demonstration at that time! Also convenient for many local shopping malls - the metered tuc-tuc (they are parked just outside of the hotel - the area feels safe) rate is 25 Rupees and 7 rupees a mile - in other words peanuts and well worth taking for the exciting ride, alternatively get the doorman to call for a local taxi - also cheap.
The one problem is Delhi's traffic that make it a long journey to the airport: in the past on business I went to the Hyatt Regency that has a shorter journey to the airport. Old Delhi is not that far away though. Also consider the National Railway Museum if you have had your fill of forts etc!!More
