Review of Iron Age Museum

Iron Age Museum
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

it was around 20 years ago that Tabriz municipality planned for a big mall in the area which now the museum is located . the area is a historical area and seems a lot of items were demolished and destroyed during excavation and construction activity . unfortunately construction a mall was more important than of such a valuable historical area that returns around 3000 ~ 4000 years ago . anyhow no doubt what is remained is very magnificent and valuable . the museum is intact graveyard that only has been covered by a shelter , whereas the area is too small and there was no more investigation hopefully it is too interested and visitors make have a good sense of graving at Iron Ages . highly recommended to visit .

When the archaeological researches started at the museum's site, we had the chance to have a visit to the excavation works and the explored stuff including bronze kitchenware and iron weapons. There was more than 40 graves all accommodated human skeletons in couples.
The explored objects had been sent to an academic center to have their age tested with radiocarbon dating and they revealed the age of those object to be about 3800 years. This could mean that the city's history could be as old as this figure and on the other hand could indicate the degree of industrial and social development of the society at that era.
Now the site (graveyard) has been rearranged as semi-opened graves and covered with transparent casings. According to my knowledge there are just a few archaeological sites like this on the Earth and visiting the museum could be a unique experience for any visitor.

This is my own experience: I said wow! Here's my hometown and I didn't know that I am in an ancient civilization related to Iron age! In a strange way, whoever had been buried those times have been saved almost completely because of minerals and some other chemical reactions on bones and you may see that they had been very tall persons, about two meters for men! Some of their kitchen utensils are saved till now. Amazing, shortly.

It's a small but very interesting place to visit. The bodies had survived 5000 years. And the bodies were placed all in foetus position ( believing they will wake up for the new life )and was believed that the ones facing the sun had died during day and ...
