“Beautifully quaint”
Review of Chor-Minor

Compared to the majestic structures in the centre of Bukhara this mosque is small and simple yet it is very elegant and beautiful in its simplicity. You won't need long to visit but it is worth it. The souvenir shop inside the building is very small but had some interesting old pieces the type of which I hadn't seen anywhere else.

Since one can only take pictures from outside and there is nothing of interest inside. Only ten minutes are required to visit this site.

This wasn't on my itinerary or near to the hotel, so I set off on foot to find it, which was slightly more difficult than I'd anticipated, but well worth it. It's highly unusual and charismatic. There is a quirky stall nearby selling old Russian uniforms, medals etc. Well worth the effort.

I enjoyed our quick visit to Chor-Minor. We only saw it from the outside; however it looks fabulous and makes for a great photo stop.
There are some quirky shops opposite selling copies of old photos from the region, as well as soft drinks etc.
I strongly recommend you include it on your Bukhara itinerary.

A unique structure in Bukhara is the Chor Minor and it certainly stands out! Very different from most others in Bukhara and Uzbekistan, inside is like most places now selling tourist souvenirs but see the dome and pay the small fee to go up to the top, not great views but why not do as much as you can in your life? You may never back this way again so take it all in and enjoy.
