This famous pond is interesting to visit for its historical value of medieval times, but is not as lovely as it could be. The ancient gnarled marvelous mulberry trees are in even worse shape than in 2006 when I last saw them, and seem to be barely hanging on. I hope Bukhara invests in planting more new trees ASAP so there will be trees here for years to come, and works to conserve the current ones.
