My first comment on this resort is make sure if you book it that you actually book one of the newly renovated rooms because the bulk of the resort bungalows would struggle to make a 1 star rating.

I booked through booking.com and having looked at the pictures and reviews of the "nice" rooms thought we were on to a winner as the location of the hotel is great. Reception area at the hotel is pleasant. However when we were shown our rooms on arrival we were disgusted.

The bathrooms were filthy and in bad condition. The rooms were dated, old fashioned bedding, furniture that was battered and scraped. To say it was below par would be a compliment that it did not deserve.

What was very infuriating was when raising issue with the receptionist I got a lecture on how I had actually definitely booked such a poor quality room by choice and that I must have seen the pictures of it on booking.com because they posted 127 pictures of the hotel.

They have posted 127 pictures of the hotel. Not one of them shows the inside of the bungalows that are so disgraceful.

I was disappointed with the attitude that we were treated with when being so dismayed and clearly the advertising and star rating did not reflect the offering.

So we paid to upgrade to one of the new rooms. This was far better. More modern and clean. Better appointed. But it still lacked that attention to detail. Towels with holes in for example. I have to say I could pick at things in these rooms but that is probably influenced by the initial by the shock of the initial rooms and having to pay extra to stay in a room that was pleasant which was frustrating. Had I been shown straight to the modern rooms I expect I would have found much less fault. I will not book again.

To finish on a positive the staff we encountered after check in were very helpful and breakfast was really good.

we checked out of Cobble Beach as we were disgusted at how basic the rooms were for such a high fee per night and checked into Chaokoh Phi Phi, thinking we were booking into a far better hotel then what we came for. HOW WRONG WE WERE! lost our 3 night stay at cobble beach and pay again for 3 nights here, plus we had to pay a deposit for any damage to our rooms. first impressions were how beautiful it looked, then the receptionist opened her mouth!! she made us feel like 2nd class citizens and after such a long day we were so upset. the porter walked us down to our rooms opposite the pool, we were horrified with what we saw! the room wasn't clean, the bathroom wasn't clean, it was full of mosquito's, the air con didn't work, our fridge didn't work....the list is endless!! we complained to reception who didn't care and said the hotel was full and tomorrow we would be moved to another room, a much better more luxurious room! we spent a very sleepless night getting bitten and sweating. we wasn't even able to get a wash the bathroom shower didn't work. the next morning i walked past the hotel pool which was full of green water and not like the pictures shown and i walked straight to the pier and asked if we could departed on a boat earlier then we were suppose to. they agreed so we never returned back to Chaokoh Phi Phi. was upsetting to be honest, this was our honeymoon, this caused arguments within what should of been a happy time during a first few days of been a happily married couple. its left a bad impression of Koh Phi Phi and we probably wont return

Stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas, had a Deluxe suite with sea view, greeted at the pier and bags carried to the hotel for us, just a short walk away.
The room was amazing, very spacious, luxurious and funky lighting. Very modern.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Christmas day we had a free dinner and drinks, roast beef and turkey, a very nice touch.
Great location and nice and quiet but also only a 1-5 min walk to the night life.
Would recommend eating at Anna's restaurant, we ate here 2/4 nights, amazing food and service, caters for international food and great Thai food.
Swimming pool quite small however great little beach in front of hotel restaurant.
Breakfast poor/average, lived off the fresh omelets.

Room Tip: Deluxe suite with sea view, as other rooms looked old and tired

Chaokoh is a nice centrally location hotel in Phi Phi village. Just off the busy street and a quiet spot. But right in the middle of the little village.
The room we had was nice and they put in 2 extra beds for our kids. No problem and we paid 800 bht per bed per night which is ok. The room was ok quality and in the higher level in the price range. Not luxury, bit decent.
The staff was friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was pretty poor quality and low selection and not too nice. Bad coffee, half empty trays and cheap quality in general. Not good. But the view from the breakfast restaurant is nice and overlooking the beach and the bay.

We have been overall happy with the stay and would recommend it it to other families with kids.

Comfortable room - little lack of arrangement- safety box- excellent wifi- some rooms may have a view to the garden- mine was opposite to another guest room- Chaokoh had also bed rooms near the hotel in the same road - well located to the market, the city, but quiet - Visit Chaokoh bedroom and travel agency to manage your booking transfers or excursions - breakfast to improve located in front of the sea- private beach next to the port - Please do not prepare fried eggs in advance and boiled eggs are in fact hard eggs. No dim sum for breakfast- If you 'd like go outside and have donuts for 5baths - Take care of mosquitoes - depending on the season and the weather -

Room Tip: bungalows with view to the garden and rooms located with a view opposite to another guest house- lack of privacy
