The beach is overcrowded with tourists, the coral is amazing for snorkling.Small shark sightings is very common.

We hired a long tail boat for the day and had decided to make our way over to Maya Bay at 0800 to avoid the crowds and speed boats.. it had seemed that we were not the only ones with the same idea!

When we arrived the beach was practically full with speed boats. Our long tail boat struggled to find a space because it was so busy! The beach is beautiful with amazingly soft sand however it is such a shame how overcrowded it is! At such an early time we was NOT expecting the crowds that we experienced. We spent ages trying to get shots as everytime we picked up our camera the shot was photo bombed by a 'wanna be' model or a speed boat!

Definately worth a visit however just be prepared it may not be what you expect..

Stunningly beautiful area but completed overridden with tourists (I appreciate the irony being a tourist myself!) only one small part of the beach/sea area you could swim in as the rest was full with boats. Have heard that they are closing the bay to tourists for a while to try to let it recover, I hope this works!

A must see if you’re on Koh Phi Phi. But very, very busy. Best come very early. Or take a sleep over tour, like we did.

There are plenty toilets available. New to me, was the fact that there is a 24/7 ranger station on the island.

This beach has become too famous and you can have 10 boats parked on the tiny beach, which ruins the whole atmosphere. Still beautiful but know what to expect.
