Area, rooms, pools and beach are all very nice/good quality. The food is good as long as you stick to the Asian/Thai part of the menu. Had a very tasteless burger and a pizza which felt like freezer quality so stay away from the western part of the menu IMO.

My recommendation is to get a room near the pond, so you won't have to climb the steep hill every time you wanna go to your room or wait for a golf cart to take you there.

Finally the usual complaint about reserved sun beds with no people on them. Yes, this hotel has that problem too.

Room Tip: Go for a room near the pond. All the other rooms are up a very steep hill.

It feels like the staff are prisoners. Appreciated if they can think by themselves and not just beeing robots. Can they get a bit less automatic?

Nice pool area, rooms, gardens and breakfast.

4 x more expensive on drinks, water, massage etc compared to anything 10 m from resort. Tourist reserve sun beds in early morning and at 09 there are no beds left (stupid tourists).

The service was amazing - just Call to lobby and you Got picked up at your room.
Staff was really friendley and help you with everything.
The resort has a fantastic garden with small verans swimming in a small stream with fish really amazing
And visiting koh lanta was like visiting Phuket for 20 years ago , very quiet and not to Many tourist and the food was thai food that tastet really Good.

We had a great week at Rawi Warin early January. The hotel is beautiful, and the grounds and surrounding area are great. It is on the beachfront and if you go for a day trip the boats come and collect/return you to the beach. It is a very peaceful and quiet resort like most of Koh Lanta. The staff are wonderful and the breakfast was very good with a lot of choice of hot/cold food. Our room was fantastic with a sea view. There are restaurants outside, but a good 10 min walk you get more choice. Turn right at 7/11.There is a good beach bar next door to the hotel. We loved our stay.

Room Tip: We had room 501 and it was a great room.

We stayed at the Rawi Warin for 5 nights as a 'treat' for the last part of our Thailand trip. I should start by saying that what it did have going for it was beautiful grounds, a fantastic pool and great food. Unfortunately this didn't cover the price tag as I've had far more enjoyable stays in Thailand for half the price and have never had such poor customer service.
When we arrived, the room we were taken to (small by Thai standards) at the top of a hill was underwhelming with stains on the curtains, scuffs on the wall and a relatively small tv that never got a good reception.
We tried to take this in our stride and the next day, after an epic breakfast went down to enjoy the pool which was what we suspected was what the price tag was based on. When we arrived we were told there were no more available sun loungers and we were welcome to take a mat and sit on the grass! The most frustrating part of this situation was that it was clear to see that there was enough space for at least 40 more sun loungers around the pool (and there wasn't a single one on the beach) but the hotel had not purchased enough of them.
When I went to complain to the manager about the room and the lack of chairs she informed me that when she started as manager 3 weeks earlier, she observed the lack of sun loungers and had brought it to the attention of the actual management who did nothing about it. As a gesture she offered us 20% off their spa treatments. Their massages were about 6 times the price of the going rate outside the hotel.
The food was great but the service was painfully slow and in each restaurant it seemed only 1 member of waiting staff spoke English, making it difficult to ask a question about the dishes etc.
2 of the days of our stay, housekeeping decided to skip making up our room despite the door notice. On 4 of the 5 days there was a power cut one of which lasted all day due to a storm hitting the island. So whilst we couldn't go outside, the air conditioning, tv and all other power points in the room weren't working. As my girlfriend wasn't even able to make a cup of tea due to the lack of power, our only option in the storm was to go to the hotel restaurant - the only part of the hotel with a back up generator and as the kitchens were operational they were able to continue charging the guests for food and drink rather than leaving out some basic refreshments for the guests who were pretty much stranded at the hotel due to the weather.
At one point the light switches in the room stopped working, preventing us from switching OFF the light so even sleeping through the experience wasn't an option. We alerted reception who said they were sending someone to fix it and 6 hours later they still hadn't. We did the same thing with the shower that didn't work properly and they never sent anyone to fix it.
I can honestly say that if I hadn't paid up front for our stay I would have checked out early and stayed somewhere else. When I strongly communicated to the manager about our experience, all she could say is that "the management had a no refund policy".
As some kind of gesture she offered to 'upgrade' us to another room that was exactly the same size just not located at the top of a hill. I graciously passed on this generous gesture and she eventually upgraded us to a villa for the last night of our stay. It was about the sort of standard of room we expected for the money we had spent on the crap room we had been staying in but apparently the price of these villas are even more ridiculous. The room was very pleasant... until the morning when the air conditioning failed and we had to sweat through packing our cases.
There comes a point where management need to be accountable for schoolboy errors and poor service especially when it comes to basic essentials like light switches and showers.
At the prices they ask for It's just not enough to only have a 'manager' onsite who is inexperienced and unaccountable for problems that occur but is happy to relay that the rest of the management have a no refund policy.
It is possible someone may even respond to this review with an apology and reassurance that this information will be fed into their training notes. I should point out that this makes little difference to a couple who received a hotel experience that fell so far short of the price tag by anyone's standards. If you want to make a difference, give people back at least some of their hard earned money when the very basics of hotel accommodation don't work.

Room Tip: your money will go further at another hotel
