We booked a bungalow on the beach, having stayed in similar accommodation elsewhere in Thailand and Malaysia.
The room we were shown to was filthy. The toilet seat had old faeces splattered on it, ants everywhere, windows of the bungalow smashed. I asked to change room as it was completely unacceptable.
The new room was only slightly cleaner, yet with a hole apparently punched into the bathroom door?
I feel it was very overpriced.
The only positive is that the location is right on the beach.
Overall dirty, old, overpriced.

Bungalows location was brilliant. Almost on the beach (long beach). But for the next hotel along the same road you can stay in much better bungalows for the same price. The beds were very uncomfortable, i wasnt sure if there was a mattress on the bed at all. My pillowcase had a blood stain on it and there was noone on hand to change it and when left off the case in clear view the same stained case was put back on the pillow on the bed. The furniture in the room was broken and covered in cobwebs. ants had a trail all over our walls and bugs and insects could walk/fly straight in, therefore my partner and i were riddled with bites despite using repellent. On a more positive note the Air con unit was very efficient. the bathroom was disgusting the shower head was dirty and dangling. bolts hanging out of the walls and holes in the bathroom where i assume there were once fittings for the shower. Everything in the bathroom was very dirty and there were no covers for drains again welcoming in any unwanted critters. The hotel had a restaurant on the beach which served disappointing food. Wifi in the room was okay and worked reasonably well. Staff were very pleasant . No fridge which i find hardwork having to come back to warm water.

Bathroom was biggest issue with our room, dirty toilet, plugged shower head, no water for 2 of the 5 days. Main part of the bungalow was fine, large bed, but linens were questionable. Wifi was frustrating as it was constantly inconsistent. Restaurant was okay, location good for beach access. Koh Lanta was much different from our visit 4 years earlier due to rapid growth, busy, dirty, noisy. Not the quaint island vibe we experienced before, but fortunately our next location was Koh Jum restoring our love for southern Thailand.

Big clean bungalows right on the beach with a very good restaurant and friendly staff. Can't really go wrong staying here to be honest. Highly recommended and a great beach with lots of good places to eat while watching the sun go down within an easy walk along the beach. When you are staying at a beach like this, who needs more?
