It is the nearest Club Mahindra Resort for me. Just around 150 Kms drive from my current location. We loved the location of this resort. My son enjoys almost all activities for kids here, specially Bike riding. We will always remember TUG OF WAR game, we really enjoyed it.

Staff is very courteous, co-operative and always smiling. Food (Veg) is awesome in taste. Rooms are spacious with all required amenities. We also loved High Tea at Garden side with hot snakes. We were here for only two days so less explored the city Saputara. Would love to visit here again.

This was my 7th Club Mahindra Resort and I must say we were let down this time.

We were there for our first wedding anniversary, we were travelling from Mumbai and reached the resort around 2:10 p.m. The security personnel at the main gate checked our body temperature and let us in. There was no one to guide where to park the vehicle, nor did anyone ask for the luggage. The entrance was a bit crowded, so we thought it's fine as we just had three bags to carry.

The reception area was busy with checkin formalities, we expected a welcome drink, but guessed it must have been suspended owing to the current covid situation. We filled out the declaration forms and were made to wait for some 40 mins leaving us hardly any time for lunch. Oh and the restaurant buffet closes at 3 p.m. btw!

We quickly dropped our luggage in the room and rushed to the restaurant. The restaurant guys were generous enough to extend their buffet timings to 3:30. The food was good. Due to covid, there is a change how to relish on the buffet; you will have to ask the staff to serve you the food. This is good from a safety perspective.

Post lunch we thought of taking some rest and thought we would visit Saputara, but there was a notice saying that we should avoid going to Saputara as the officials ask for Covid Test Report, so we dropped the plan. Afterwards we understood from the reception that they don't check it now, but the notice is yet to be removed.

We noticed that we did not have cellular network in the resort and the Wi-Fi also wasn't working. Not sure how the people coming for 'workations' survive here! CM should really consider having the infrastructure to provide WiFi in and around the resort to cater to such new kind of travellers.

That night we had dinner and spent some time roaming around the resort clicking some pictures. We had an upset stomach the next morning and called the reception if they had any fruit salts like eno by any chance, the person on the phone simply said a plain "NO sir" and hanged up the phone. I wanted to ask if there are any chemist shops nearby, but I wasn't even heard. At that point I was really let down by the hospitality at CM Hatgad.

My wife just had juice for breakfast and she asked the manager if they had any fruits other than bananas, to which he instantly denied. I'm not saying he was lying or anything, but he didn't even take the effort to check! Weren't expecting this kind of hospitality.

We finally left with our first disappointing experience with CM. We were just here for a day and sadly it was not worth travelling so far.

Hatgad is a small village on the Maharashtra side near the Gujarat border and 6 KMS from saputara and this is the best place available here. For all those coming from Gujarat there is absolutely no restrictions due covid. You can enter freely. At the most you will find traffic police checking for papers. I went to saputara from Hatgad and came back with no issue at all. Other guests coming from Gujarat had no issue too.

We had a studio room and it was huge with a terrace as big as the room itself so the kids enjoyed it.

Network is a big issue here and the only complaint I have is that the wifi provided by the hotel in the lobby is really slow. Infact would suggest to the hotel to sell portable wifi and they can actually make money here. Considering that u want people to practice social distancing they should provide chargeable wifi in your room.
The pool and gym was closed due to the new norms. Cycles we're available and badminton and cricket gear for use available. Everything else in the clubhouse was shut. Small property compared to other CMs. Overall good place and no other issue.

My first visit to Hatgad resort though we have been regular customers of Club mahindra for a long time. With great trepidation, we booked a 2 day holiday during Diwali. There was no issue with sanitisation of the vehicle and luggage; staff was always masked. But it all went awry during the buffets. Most people go for buffet meals as they are convenient and economic. The staff also pushes that we opt for a buffet. But is it such a good idea in COVID times? The dining room would be full of people..obviously ummasked..talking and eating. To their credit, the staff would serve food rather than people touching the serving spoons. I wish the management had been proactive in insisting on some discipline about time spent eating. Options were
1. Do away with buffet. Only set meals. Add ons as needed. Room service only
2. Keep the dining room occupied by maximum 50%. They could set up more tables outside in the open. It's always safer to eat in an open area environment
3. Make it very clear to guests that they need to be masked all the time in public or open places in the resort(except when exercising or eating). Most people were unmasked even in groups. Social distancing was obviously thrown out of the door. There should have been visibly big signboards insisting and reinforcing this rule
4. If people don't follow rules, it's hazardous to others as well as the staff. I think the resort would have been well within their rights to insist that people follow them.

I will think again about booking a holiday for another year at least.

Excellent care by the hotel staff right from entry till chk out. In spite of lesser staff on duty, good care taken for the comfort of the guests. Must mention about housekeeping team - vikas Singh & sagar who took great care for locating lost clothes and managing to courier back to us. Hats off to them.
