That Cape Coast Castle is one of the monuments in Ghana that reminds our generation of African slave trade history. The building is old but looks very healthy and strong. It's a nice place to visit with a large group of people. I love the landscape and the sea breeze.

Great place to visit and to remember the horror of slavery. The crime against humanity must not be forgotten.
Besides that the castle has a great atmosphere surrounding it. Go right along the edge of the castle to you get to the fisherman beach. Children play (at least on Sundays where we we there) and view of the bay is super.

Totally enjoyed our visit. The history and actual evidence of the atrocities committed here are truly moving. A must see destination for anyone visiting Ghana!

Sebastian was an excellent guide and really made you feel a very small bit of how it must have been to be here. Sorry for our history and maybe we should teach more of this in our schools.

We stopped in Cape Coast en route from Kumasi to the the Accra airport. It is a long way to go but well worth the stop to contextualize a part of Ghana’s long history. Our group was tired after a full week but after the tour, agreed it was worth getting up and out early and taking a 7 hour drive instead of a 45 min flight to be able to take the tour before our departure that evening. Admission was GHC 40 per person for non-Ghana citizens as of Feb 1, 2020. The tour lasts about 45 minutes and is included with admission. Be sure to wear sunscreen and sunglasses or a hat. Water is also a good idea on hot days.
