Anna our host did everything she could to make our stay at Shuhe great. She was very attentive to our travel plans, and was very good at offering logistical information.

The hostel was located in a central location not far from the main entrance. We walked in without a reservation and booked a couple nights with ease.

Breakfast was a bit expensive for what was provided, but it was convenient for our 7:20am excursion out to the Tiger Leaping Gorge.

Note: the main area and the rooms are all smoking-permissible.

My partner and I had initially booked to stay for three nights at Maple Leaf Inn. As our flights were severely delayed we requested to cut our stay down to two nights, which they mostly accommodated, though charged us half for the night missed.

The rooms were very comfortable and the service was extremely helpful. We had a driver booked who took us up to the Snow Mountain Scenic Area (top tip, don't go if it's cloudy!)

The set breakfast was a bit disappointing; definitely go a la carte. Dinner, likewise, was a bit overpriced, though they do recommend good places to go to eat.

Given the layout of a kind of indoor courtyard, it can get a bit noisy in the mornings. Otherwise, we were very happy with our stay.

The maple leaf in is ran by a Dutch man and his Chinese wife. It's a cosy place, tranquil and easy going. The kids of the owners were playing games with our kids in the courtyard. Rooms are OK. Spacious enough with airconditioning.
The staff is very very friendly and the breakfast is just brilliant. Take the bananabread!!!!
Shuhe is one of those towns were you go to, to relax and enjoy the scenery.
We had a great time at the maple leaf Inn!!

Good point!
1. The accommodation is in convenient access as it is closely located in Shuhe Ancient Town. However, it is separated from Lijiang Old Town which is a popular sightseeing spot, so make sure to position yourself in the exact location.
2. The management know-how of the owner is excellent. He is fluent in English, helps and supports travelers in need.
3. Make sure to try the breakfast. The breakfast is quite good here.
4. The male owner wearing an apron looks very family-oriented.

Bed point!
1. The bed covers were soggy, but it seems like it’s because of the regional weather chracteristic.
2. There is no tissue (toilet paper) in the room. (There needs to be more.)
3. The tour program managed by the accommodation is expensive compared to other companies. However, I am willing to try it regardless of the costly price because the accommodation can help if anything happens during the tour.
4. The hot water is kept in the water heater in each room and it is not sufficient when two or more people use it at the same time.

My mother and I stayed at this Guesthouse for one night. It was easy to find, which is unique for Lijiang, as the walking streets in Old Town are confusing. The atmosphere was calm and beautiful, with the open air courtyard, flowers, and beautiful decore.
The staff spoke Enlgish and were a great help when we were planning our transportation needs.
