Jim's Tibetan Hotel was recommended by our guide book and was a great choice for our two-day stay in Dali. Our third-floor room was large with firm beds (one queen and one twin, which was in a separate little room with a curtain hanging over the doorway between the two rooms), a modern bathroom, wifi, TV, and great view of the mountains. There is also a fourth-floor roof-top terrace with a beautiful 360 degree view of the city, mountains, and lake. The hotel rents bicycles for 40 yuan per day. Jim provides a delicious breakfast (Dutch pancake, yogurt and fruit, and coffee/tea). The hotel is well-located on the outskirts of the old town, so it is close enough to walk to old town but far enough away from the noise that it is nice and quiet. Jim is a tour guide and took us on a unique, day-long tour of the area that included a visit to an Yi (one of the many minorities in Dali) farm, incredible outdoor market, 500 year old temple, and visit to the old town of Weishan. His tour is a bit on the pricy side, so make sure to ask for a quote before booking. Jim also provided us transportation from Dali to Tiger Leaping Gorge at a very reasonable price, which saved us from having to take a bus to Lijiang, another bus to Qiaotou, and then hire a taxi to the trail...Jim's Tibetan Hotel was recommended by our guide book and was a great choice for our two-day stay in Dali. I definitely recommend Jim's Tibetan Hotel for your stay in Dali.More
