This place is very well located on way to Grand Teton National Park. On its south is River Snake and it's just on US-89. Rooms are spacious, clean but without microwave. They let you use Microwave in their kitchen. Very friendly staff.

Room tip: Log cabins along Snake River.

We arranged to stay here on a driving trip from Montana to Southern Calif. Alpine is about a 30 minute drive south of Jackson which would have been the preferred stop but rates are much too high. Flying Saddle has a good website describing different classes of rooms, so we weren't surprised to see "dog room" which was the original, not updated rooms without frig or microwave. Had small, old fashion TV & really old polyester flowery bedspread with outdated decor. On a positive note, room was quite large with two windows to let nice breeze in.
Continental breakfast was apparently included, but since I wasn't informed at check in, we missed out on it. It could have used a thorough cleaning but location good with very nice restaurant across the highway in "Nordic Inn"

I have stayed at this place many times over the years(back when it had the old moose) due to its central location before entry into the Teton Valley and Yellowstone. Prices were reasonable and not quite the tourist gouge of the establishments to the north of it in Jackson,Wy. But this time I am sorry to say it appears to be worn out. The room was in terrible shape with bedding so worn that we thought long and hard about even attempting to sleep on it...we didn't. Stains on the bedspread, blankets, floor.....everywhere. The part we stayed in was supposed to be the newer part...NOT...jsut a gussied up Motel 6 addition. The old rooms were much better with more space. There is a dining room, gift shop , and liquor store on the premises. The restaurant food is overpriced and not much variety. Putting a liquor store on the establishment was a poor choice and you can imagine the type of traffic attracted to such in rural Wyoming. In summary, the place has gone to the dogs....literally. Travelers would be better off to truck the 30 miles north and stay in the overpriced lodgings of Jackson as there they do attempt to offer clean bedding and some good food places too. And...Resort....NOT.

Room tip: ask for the old rooms as opposed ..at least you will have stayed where Lyndon Johnson used to stay...if that kind of stuff appeals to you

We had a very large room but no fridg or microwave ..It did have coffee. We went to swim in the indoor pool but it was a little too cool..Got in the hot tub instead,,This was relaxing. We had a hard time getting to sleep because the next rooms water gave off a loud screeching noise when the people showered.. This happened 2 nites..

Room tip: 34 miles to Jackson through some beautiful country by the snake river

Our Legion Baseball team stayed at the Flying Saddle Resort as a more economical alternative to staying in Jackson, WY. The team travelled the short distance to Jackson daily and were able to enjoy the beauty of staying in Alpine. The rooms were very nice and clean. The hotel staff was accommodating and helpful. I would definitely stay at the Flying Saddle again.
