Being kind of picky in that the brisket is what is always ordered, we were so surprised that this small and unassuming place finally hit the brisket perfectly! Nice long tender moist strips with a nice edge of seared fat and a dark peppery rub were soft and almost fell apart when they were picked up. A real ten out of ten.
The sides were also perfectly done. The collard greens were tasty without being overly spicy. They were nicely streamed in a flavored broth but had not gotten soakingly soggy. Green beans were soft but still had the exact amount of bite to them.
This is a very unassuming place and not one you would go to for chic atmosphere. It has its own little rustic look, it is not large but the trip out here is worth every mile and every drop of gas.
