Excellent Location, Friendly Staff

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 23, 2024
I recently spent three nights at the Ibis Styles Araneta Philippines in a Standard room. The room itself was not particularly large, but it was well-equipped and sufficient for my purposes. The hotel's location within the Araneta City Complex is unquestionably its strongest advantage. It was really convenient to have easy access to public transportation, a diverse selection of restaurants, a movie theater, and grocery stores. I particularly enjoyed the beautiful chapel placed within the property. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of foods to satisfy different preferences. Throughout my visit, the staff was consistently polite and helpful, and they provided outstanding hospitality. My only criticism is that the Wi-Fi was somewhat unreliable. Despite this tiny issue, I highly recommend Ibis Styles Araneta Philippines due to its ideal location and excellent personnel.

I like how the design of the hotel pays homage to the concerts/shows/events that were held in Araneta. There were Boxing Gloves to honor Thriller in Manila, Stage Audio Boxes in the lobby for the concerts, etc. Our room was clean and the public places were colorful. The view from the pool and the breakfast buffet are also good.

If you wish to watch special events held at Araneta Coliseum, Ibis Styles Araneta City will be perfect for you. The hotel is right beside Araneta Coliseum and Gateway Mall. With its strategic location, getting a taxi, booking for Grab, or even riding the MRT/LRT will not be a problem for travelers. In addition, the service of Ibis Styles is exceptional. Hotel staff, from the security personnel on the first floor to the front desk agents, and housekeeping attendants, will always greet you with a smile and will not hesitate to assist you with your requests.

The standard room we stayed in has a chic style and cozy atmosphere, with a panoramic view of the metro. The hotel also promotes sustainability as shown in the room amenities they provide. One thing that we noticed is the separation of the toilet from the shower area. For someone not used to that layout, it might feel uncomfortable at first. Nevertheless, our experience was truly memorable, from the guest services to the hotel facilities and breakfast buffet, everything is commendable and we would definitely love to come back. Thank you Ibis Styles Araneta.

I've stayed several times in this hotel in the past months. It's new so there were definitely birth pains - like long check-in/check out time and no hot water. I've mentioned that in my reviews before and what's great is they acted on it.

In my recent stay they actually provided a dedicated/separate line for Accor Plus members and it was a big convenience for us members. The check-out was also very fast, they no longer asked me to stay while they check the rooms then forget that I was was waiting.

The people there are also wonderful, very courteous and pleasant to deal with - from security personnel to housekeeping. In my last stay in October there was just a small problem I encountered - they were no bath towels in my room and it took more than an hour and a follow-up for them to bring towels to my room - I was too tired and wanted a hot shower before sleeping but I had to wait long for just some towels.

The bed was firm just what I wanted, their pillow were fluffy and so soft , not complaining but I prefer firmer pillows. There are no slippers (you have to pay for them) and there are no bathrobes - I already expected this since they are not a luxury hotel, no issues there. I love that they have water refilling stations on every floor - unlimited drinking water!

I love their breakfast - simple yet with enough variety to satisfy different people. Their take on classic Filipino food is always spot on - very delicious with a home-made taste. Chicken adobo, arrozcaldo, relyenong bangus and daggit - those are my favorite.

They have direct access to Araneta Center Mall and a few feet away from the beautiful rooftop church. You can actually see it from some room windows. They also have a nice gym with new equipment and a rooftop bar and pool with awesome view. drinks are affordable too.

Value for money is 5/5! I always get their package rate about Php 2,500++ /night. This includes buffet breakfast for 2 and a Php250 hotel credit per night. Plus there's my welcome drinks from being an Accor plus member. I basically dont have to spend extra when staying there.

This is my new favorite hotel and I will continue to stay here whenever I need a break.

Room tip: Very crowded on weekends.

Stayed here a couple times now so gonna keep this short.

Pros:
Location (having an entrance to the mall is a plus but still...)

Cons:
Thin walls, can hear the conversations from other rooms.
Slippers are not free! Yes, you read it right, they charge for slippers now.

Room tip: Bring your own slippers!

My wife and I stayed at the Ibis Styles Araneta City for three nights during our vacation, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t meet the expectations we had, especially as Platinum members.

From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was far from smooth. Despite there being three counters open, only two were in use, and we had to wait for one to become available even though the third staff member was free but not assisting us. This was a frustrating start to our stay and made us feel like our time wasn’t valued.

The room itself was adequate but lacked basic amenities. We were only provided two toothbrushes, which was fine, but when we requested slippers, we were told there would be an extra charge. As Platinum members, this came as a surprise—never before have we been asked to pay for something so basic. It felt unreasonable and unlike our previous experiences with Ibis Style hotels or other Accor properties.

While the location of the hotel is convenient and the design is stylish and fresh, the service and treatment we received were disappointing. I hope the management considers improving their service, especially for loyal customers, as small gestures like complimentary slippers should be standard, not a chargeable extra.

Overall, we left feeling underwhelmed and are hesitant to recommend this hotel to others, particularly for those who are expecting a higher level of service based on loyalty membership status.
