My wife and I stayed at the Ibis Styles Araneta City for three nights during our vacation, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t meet the expectations we had, especially as Platinum members.
From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was far from smooth. Despite there being three counters open, only two were in use, and we had to wait for one to become available even though the third staff member was free but not assisting us. This was a frustrating start to our stay and made us feel like our time wasn’t valued.
The room itself was adequate but lacked basic amenities. We were only provided two toothbrushes, which was fine, but when we requested slippers, we were told there would be an extra charge. As Platinum members, this came as a surprise—never before have we been asked to pay for something so basic. It felt unreasonable and unlike our previous experiences with Ibis Style hotels or other Accor properties.
While the location of the hotel is convenient and the design is stylish and fresh, the service and treatment we received were disappointing. I hope the management considers improving their service, especially for loyal customers, as small gestures like complimentary slippers should be standard, not a chargeable extra.
Overall, we left feeling underwhelmed and are hesitant to recommend this hotel to others, particularly for those who are expecting a higher level of service based on loyalty membership status.
