I enjoyed the Spanish-style ambiance. The bakery pastries and bread were excellent, and it didn't hurt that they go on sale 50% off when it's past 5 pm. I regret not buying more of the hawaiian roll and chocolate chip danish, they were so good. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and was suprised that there was Korean fare on a breakfast but I totally enjoyed it (my mom didn't like it so much lol). I wish their Filipino breakfast selection was better--on our second morning, they had corned beef which didn't look so good and wasn't so good either according to my mom. The beef tapa I had during the first morning was really good, and I regret not asking for more lol.
I think most guests who have stayed in Manila Hotel recently would agree with me that their rooms badly need to be renovated. We stayed in room 1017, and here are the issues with the room:
-The bathtub drain was broken and would not drain anymore--I tried using the bathtub but had to ask for a hotel staff to drain it out for me because, as they said, the drain was broken
-The shower doors won't close snugly so the water just can't help but leak outside whenever someone showers, hence our floor towels are always soaking wet
-One of the night lights cannot be turned off by the bedside switch; it remains lighted all day--for people...I enjoyed the Spanish-style ambiance. -One of the night lights cannot be turned off by the bedside switch; it remains lighted all day--for people who like to sleep in total darkness, this is really annoying
-The carpeting is frayed--this is not really that much of an issue for me, but just something that I noticed and would probably be an issue for other guests
-The couch makes a loud sound whenever someone sits on it and everytime that person moves--it's a little creepy especially at night
My mom and I (and our visiting relatives in the other room) still enjoyed our stay, and enjoyed the facilities, and would probably book the hotel again in the future. I really hope they get the rooms renovated though!More
