Room number 919, floor 9. It was a great experience.
The room service is very excellent and we liked it very much. Especially with Liana as our room attendant, thank you very much for being our room attendant and helping us!

I have to say that my first time here is good. The hotel has this old manila vibe with spanish accents around that accentuates its charm as one of the oldest hotel in Manila.

The rooms were spacious, with comfy beds and amenities except for a shave if you need one.

We were at the 9th floor so the view outside overlooking Intramuros from our room window is nice. The room interiors are a touch of carved wood finish, a study, and the Tv set is a bit old style.

Overall, its a good choice for comfy stay in a old but chic hotel. The only downside is the location for me, although its just a stone throw away from Quirino grand stand, luneta park, ocean park, US embassy and Intramuros; the traffic is heavy in this area, there are limited choices of restaurants and mall if you need one.

Room tip: It's traffic during peak hours and will take time for you to book a ride hailing app.

Dear valued guest, We appreciate the time you have spent reviewing your most recent visit to the hotel. Thank you for choosing our hotel as your home away from home. Your comments and feedback are duly noted and reviewed to further improve our services. It also makes us sad that we do not have control over the heavy traffic in the area and unfortunately, it affects our guests as well. However, we'd want to compensate such over genuine Filipino hospitality and service. We hope you were able to enjoy your stay with us. And we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kudos to Brasserie service staff for their A-ok 5-star service. They have been so attentive on needs of their guests. They even ask you how or what else you like and they will be the one to get for you. Thank you “Marvin the Vampire”! Keep up being wholesome while on work

Your halal menu is worth it for getting me stress for first night but common it’s so good why would u like to cut off early and not make it available in other dining area it’s really worth it to try. You need to update the room dining menu so the guest will not get frustrated after long trip they expect better quality of food choices specially if your rating the hotel a 4 or 5 star

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights on a business some 12 years ago and decided to book again on a six-week retirement holiday across Asia with the Wife. I wished I had not used the Manila.
The first visit after 25 hours on the road, an hour taxi and a fifteen-minute check in, was to the bar at 2345 to get glass of wine. It was a half glass and when the bill arrived it was £15. We asked for a cold beer next; however, it was now 65 seconds past midnight and we were told the bar closed at Midnight and there was no flexibility by a miserable dude in a stiff ensemble. We never went to the bar again but bought a 5Ltr box of wine from the Supermarket for £12.
First problem was the Food was always cold, from the three restaurants we used. Plate warmers may help? I once watched as the fried rice was put out fresh in the buffet, but it was still barely lukewarm a minute later when I got to my seat. Breakfast was too cold to eat 4 mornings out of 5. Every morning you are shown to your seat, which is nice and efficient. However, if you arrive at 9.30, you are on your own to find a table, to find your own cutlery and you have to ask for Coffee. The fruit juice glasses were already stowed and getting water was a task. You are reminded three times they close at 10 from the moment you walk in and whenever you ask for something like coffee.
The cold or mildly tepid evening buffet for the wife and I was close to 6000 Peso’s (almost £100) which we did not realise until second visit to the restaurant. I have paid more than a £100 for a meal before but it was high end chef and included wine. We were told a 30% reduction for guests on our Sunday visit, then another waitress told us 20% on Monday. Turns out they took 20% off (before tax) on the Monday and nothing from the Sunday. There is no hotel information in the room other than a room service menu.
In front and below our balcony was a 100-foot conference tent. From 0800 in the morning until 1800 there was various people shouting into a microphone not stop. They started again on the Saturday with multiple sound checks ay 0600 and then the shouters started again at 0700. The next day (Sunday) at 0700 music started with what we assumed was a church service, in spite of this it went on until 1730. Asia is already noisy; we have visited over 10 times and expect it but people shouting down microphones for 10 hours a day is not normal.
It rained, not a problem usually. Nonetheless the balconies started filling up with the rain and began flooding over the lip of the door. I went out in the rain and unblocked the drain which had about 6 inches of rubbish, leaves and mud over the hole. The balcony was filthy and was never cleaned when we were there. Next door balcony was thick in slimy grit worse than ours.
The room was a fantastic size with all the 4-star amenities. Yet it’s let down by the bathroom floor was never washed. The spillage of what may have been dried coffee was there when we arrived and was still there when we left. The hotel itself is beautiful and pictures show it as fantastic. The pool area was nice, but no shade so we did not use it.
We went to 7 countries staying at 8 hotels in 6 weeks. The Manila hotel was the noisiest, most expensive, unfriendly hotel on the entire trip and the only one to receive any negative comments.

Room tip: Balcony is large and worth the extra, but noisy during day
