“Food wasn't fresh”
Reviewed June 3, 2015

Had 3 dishes: seafood marinara, seafood padthai, and seafood laksa

Seafood Marinara was alright, but not spectacular.

The seafood pad thai was not good. It seemed to be cooked with soy sauce rather than authentic thai flavours. My noodles were not fresh - they were chewy and rubbery. The peanuts tasted stale. The squid that was included with the padthai was good, however the shrimp did not taste fresh. The pad thai was salty, and the only thing that was good about it - was that it came with a lime. For a restaurant right on Manila bay, I was disappointed.

The seafood laksa soup itself was good. The noodles included were not authentic Malaysian noodles. They seem to simply have put the noodles from the seafood marinara into the broth.

What drew us into this restaurant was the clean atmosphere. However, the food did not meet my standards -taste wise. \

Service was okay, but could be better. Our food was delivered at separate times with the laksa being served 20 minutes after the first dish appeared. In addition, I noticed the food was sitting at the pick up counter for a good 15 minutes before being served. Food should be piping hot when delivered - as this ensures all the bad bacteria has been cooked away. But by cooking it and letting it sit out in the open for such a large period of time, this takes away from good hygiene practices.

For such a good looking restaurant, I had higher expectations.

“Asian Dishes You Must Try!”
Reviewed March 9, 2015 via mobile

Ate here with my family because we were too tired to go out of the hotel. And we didn't regret the decision. Lots of Asian dishes to choose from. Enjoyed the Bagoong Rice and Satay :) Price was also affordable.

“Formerly Makansutra”
Reviewed February 10, 2015 via mobile

Not sure if this place is still owned by KF Seetoh of Makansutra fame but despite the rebranding, the food is still delicious.

The husband and I had Roti Prata, Nasi Goreng, Bagoong (Shrimp Paste) Rice and Tom Yum Soup which came up to Php 821 inclusive of service charge. We enjoyed our meal very much since we hardly find places that really nail these dishes. The portions are not as generous though so each order is really good for just yourself or two skinny people

The ambiance was quite nice too - it was a cross between hawker stalls and fine dining with a great view of the bay (we were seated by the windows).

Although I must say that we weren't too impressed with the service as the wait staff were slow and seemed bored with what they were doing. Which is why we try to avoid places that impose a service charge to your bill. Sadly, this restaurant is one of them.

All in all, while we enjoyed the food, service is always a deal breaker for me. I don't think it's worth making the trip all the way to Ocean Park only for this. We might return - if someone else is paying.
