We stayed for 4 nights. In general, the hotel was ok. Yet, breakfast prices were too high and laundry prices were outrageous. For example, one sport pants cost 600 yen, more than whole machine in other places that we spotted later.

Located 10 minutes from the main train station and easy walking distance to several of the temples and attractions of central Kyoto. Being Easter the place was packed and we had to queue a bit but otherwise we were well looked after.

We stayed here from 28 March and check out tomorrow. We have been very happy with this hotel.

The location is brilliant with a 5 min easy walk to the station from which we did all our day trips - Gion region, himeji castle, Hiroshima, miyajima island, bamboo forest, monkey park and teoi fun park.

There is a speciality coffee shop called Kyrasu on the way to the station via the short cut (ask concierge) and it is the best coffee in the ENTIRE universe. So so so good. We went every day.

The rooms aren’t enormous but are comfortable, and of most importance to me was the softness of the bed, the working air conditioning and the good water pressure in the shower. I know Jess sound like first world problems but they can seriously ruin your trip through poor sleep and the inability to wash hair .

The concierge was fantastic at suggesting things to do and providing clear directions. Her English was excellent.

The little restaurant downstairs (starts with a T but it wasn’t tepponyaki) was expensive but very delicious. There’s a stack of great restaurants if you walk towards Kyoto tower - go down the lane ways off the main road too. Breakfast is hard to find but there’s a giant queue at the hotel buffet from 7-830 so suggest you go outside of these times to avoid the big tour groups.

Another tip - japan rail pass does NOT cover Nozomi (we were politely removed). Use hyperdia to get your train times but toggle off nozomi to get other Shinkansen services which you can use on JR pass.

The weather was amazing too - 20 to 24 each day! Blossoms are already starting to fall off so if you’re coming for blossoms, hurry!

The only one downside of this hotel is the water in the shower goes freezing cold about every 2 minutes which is a bit of a pest. Also the internet wifi is terrible, dropping out every 2-3 mins requiring reconnecting although they were apparently getting that fixed yesterday and it does seem a bit better today.

The hotel was nicely done and the staff is very helpful. We needed some medical help and the hotel staff took care of it really well. A very comfortable, clean place and highly recommended one. The breakfast has got a good spread and location is very convenient just a few minutes from the station.

We stayed for 9 nights at this first class hotel.
Our room was on the 10th floor.
The room was reasonably sized very clean and comfortable.
The room was quiet,there was no noise from other quests.
We had a very piece full time.
The reception staff were very efficient and caring.
The shuttle bus to the station runs every 15 minutes which was a bonus although is only a short walk to the station and shops.
If ever I was in Kyoto again I would definitely stay at this hotel.
