Nothing seems to work in this hotel. There was no air conditioning, no room service, no bar selection, and a heavy musty smell in the room. It's in the middle of no where. I would never stay in this hotel.

This hotel is a good choice for those who don't want the big brands with the big prices. It is a boutique hotel & is set over 2 buildings...
Taxi drivers confuse it with another hotel of similar name - "Marco Polo" - so be aware to ensure your driver has the right one before you alight!
If you request a lakeside view room... you will be escorted to the front building of the hotel complex of 2 (after going through the foyer area) which is through an open aired (but has a roof over it) pathway, up an outdoor ramp and into a 2nd lift which services these rooms. (round building as seen in my pictures) The view is totally worth this extra bit of fuss to get there. We stayed in both a lakeside & interior room but we preferred the lakeside room. The lakeside view was terrific & as up high, gave a very good perspective of the lake which was clearly visible in the not too far distance. You could walk to it in 10 mins, but as it was winter time for us, we did not.
If you request a standard room your entry to rooms is through the foyer straight up to the floors. These are smallish but try to choose one with a window, as they have a better feel to it & have better temperature control - especially if you are tired from air travel & are looking for some fresh air & outside scenery.

Room Tip: Initially, hotel takes a "bond." Next day, they refund, then recharge. A sign would help explain this.

Location is convenient, but it is on a small road along with some local shops, if you don't mind the grandness of the hotel entrance, it is totally fine. Room is good and clean, bed is comfortable. The only down side is door is too thin, you can hear people talking and running in the corridor in the morning as Chinese people like to talk very loud so possibly this happens in most chinese hotels...

We were quite nervous as it was our first experience with local brand hotel in China. The hotel is outstanding (for the price)! Great room. We took the family suit and our 8-year-old is so excited that she calls it best hotel ever. Location is great, near the lake. Breakfast exceeds expectations. Truly recommend this hotel!

Quite decent hotel. Spacious room and good beds. Good sized bathroom with drinking water faucet (first one we saw in China). No free water bottles but you could buy bottled water both regular and mineral. Lots of accessories were also for sale in the room among them condoms. The roof garden was not spectacular, but refreshing. The breakfast decent but did not have much of a selection for western tastes. Wifi in room. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the vicinity. Staff at reception spoke English. The Westlake was within walking distance.

Room Tip: 10th floor was quiet enough
