My pregnant wife and I enjoyed a short but lovely trip to Xi'an thanks to the excellent service by Bryan and Agnes.
They spoke fluent English and went to great lengths in telling us about the history of the great ancient capital. We were enamored both by the superb hospitality shown as much as by the cultural riches Xi'an bestowed.
The ride was cozy but comfortable. It can get a little warm even in early March, so do bring along light clothing and maybe a tumbler for cold water. The air remained smoggy with a mix of desert dust and pollution from neighboring cities. We were told that the air quality has greatly improved from decades ago, but development still has some way to go in this second tier city. Do pack along a couple of masks if you intend to stroll around.
