My wife and I were part of a group of 30 from our local U3A (look it up youngsters!) plus 1 other. Both as a group and as individuals we received a warm welcome and genuinely friendly treatment from the hotel staff. The hotel is modern, comfortable and attractive. You get a pleasantly peaceful room with an excellent shower, large bed, free wifi, good info about St Petersburg via your TV, free minibar, super breakfast, and access to pool and "wellness centre" for fitness afficianados.
The hotel is within ambling distance of the Summer Gardens and Palace, the River Neva and Nevsky Prospekt. It's a bit further to the Winter Palace/Hermitage and other highlights, but still within striking distance. There are several places to eat close at hand, but I would recommend booking a sunset meal in the Indigo's rooftop terrace restaurant, or outside if it's warm enough, for a superb view of the city.More
