Minuses
Far old hotel with no reconstruction for a long time. Eyes catch a demolishing scrap on a landscape view just on the ocean seaside. So they're no chance to reach an open water.
Inside it smells frowzy in the hallways on the floors and in the numbers.
Bathroom and its inner filling looks spilling.
The tub itself is a very strange and uncomfortable. Actually it's a short hip-bath, with high sides, with a sitting step. For this reason, it is not convenient nor for sit, because it is too short, or to stand for shower, because all the time you're afraid to slip down.
They were no additional bathing accesories like spare toothbrush, slippers.
At the end of my visit I have found a reminder that I get it for an additional invoice.
Most disgusting are free walking 1/2' cockroaches.
Pluses
10 minutes walking to IMAX thaetre, 24/7 foodstore, 15 min walking to railway & bus station with VVO airport connection.
Seaside view

I had a great view over the Amur Bay from my room. Because of the Eastern Economic Forum I had to change the room after first 2 days. I went from bad to worst, both rooms were in a desperate need for renovation. Hopefully they will do it soon.

The Hotel is very plain and basic in its lobby and rooms. It is great for a budget traveller but was a surprise from other more upscale hotels on my Trans-Siberian G-Adventure trip. It's saving grace is that it is quite centrally located being just uphill from the rail station. A long, relatively steep hill climb I will add! There is a 5 Star Amur next door but we did not get there! The rooms were basic and somewhat comfortable beds. clean bathroom and the restaurant was quite adequate in the breakfast buffet. I ate dinner elsewhere in the city.

Arrived at the hotel and the front door and floor was smeared with dried blood. Not a good 1st impression. The hotel is old and smells awful, there are odors in the breakfast room that smells of mold. The only good thing about this hotel is the view of the bay and wifi. If you have a choice stay elsewhere.

We picked this hotel because it was cheap and we needed somewhere to crash, so I'm not going to run it down much as you get what you pay for.

The the most interesting part of this hotel is it feels like it's on the cusp of closure. Personally I found that fascinating. I wanted to explore every bit of it and try and soak up some of the memories of its former self. Kind of like urban exploring if you know what that is.

Practically the hotels is now lacking though, scratchy towels, very bad breakfast, the worst beds and some noisey neighbours.

BUT, if you want to see into the past, look back in time, you can see glimpses of this once huge and probably quite vibrant hotel.

There is this feeling of a place that was once great. Massive sweeping stair cases and bars no longer open gathering dust. It's like a long forgotten place with quirky entrances that feel like a fort you descend into and a crumbling front face that no one takes care of anymore.

Conclusion:

Don't stay here if you are looking for luxury. Do if you want somewhere cheap.

The staff although may appear cold are very welcoming. Thank you to them.
