They were still on soft opening so only two of three elevators was used for hotel guests. The 3rd was closed and I guess used by the construction people. Wait for elevators was longer than most would expect. Even then it was quiet and no one can know that construction was going on next door.
The hot water was not warm enough even when turned full towards the Hot side. The toilet has no bidet which has become standard for proper hygiene. The lobby is a bit small and full of guests waiting for their pick ups or just waiting. It tends to become noisy.
We were in a Premier room 517 which was at the farthest end. Quite a walk from the elevators.
The menu was very innovative. They have entrees for a group of four persons making the price per person reasonable! Chicken Inasal complete with soup and Java rice!
Local delicacies was included such as Laswa, adobo, etc. Even during the breakfast buffet, these local stuff all delicious was included. The dining area is cramped because they tried to fit as many tables. However service was excellent. Kudos to Angel Mae who retained her sweet smile in spite of the hectic pace of service. They need more space for diners especially breakfast.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms nearer the elevator if you don't want the long walks

This is actually just a review of their restaurant Misto. Food is very expensive for Bacolod standards.. Tiny portions as well... They try to incorporate local ingredients but fail miserably. Pomfret fish was old, tough and overcooked, combined with the grease from the bacon it came with, made me want to puke....Everything else was average... Stay at the hotel but eat outside, tons of good restaurants across the street or a few blocks away...

Pros
1. Centrally-located. The must-see city places (and restaurants) are practically walking distance.
2. Comfortable rooms. The bed, bathroom and overall room temperature blend well together to give a comfortable experience
3. Staff is friendly
4. They have a pool
5. Breakfast selection is adequate. I was surprised they have Bacolod specialty viands in the morning (KBL, Inasal, Laswa etc), which is simply delightful
6. WiFi is strong. This is, after all, a business hotel.

Cons
1. They don't have a gym
2. They don't have a bidet
3. Hallway sounds can get too loud (soundproofing isn't that strong)

Overall, will recommend and stay again.

Room Tip: 2nd floor is not a quiet floor, I'll tell you that.

The room we booked wasn't available (2 beds) so we compromised on an additional bed in an already cramped room. Dinner was very nice, but extremely expensive (> 100 USD for 2 adults and 2 children) by Filipino provincial standards. There were no tables available for breakfast at 8am. Staff tried reasonably hard to accommodate the shortfalls of the hotel and it's policies, but an uphill battle. Would I return ? Possibly for a special occasion dinner, otherwise unlikely.

I would easily rate the Seda 5 STARS for the service alone. Let me start with the hotel itself. It's still under construction but there was never once a disruption of any kind that would disturb the guests. It's almost as if they were working in slient mode. It's a new hotel so the accomodations are new, clean, and comfortable. What makes this hotel stand apart from the competition is the service. Every employee and staff member made me feel at home and welcomed. A special thanks goes out to Front Office manager Sabrina and her amazing and accomodating staff. My personal extra thanks to DIANE and MARY JOY who did everything possible to make my stay pleasant and rewarding. For them going the extra mile to make a guest comfortable was not even a second thought. When I'm back in Bacolod there is simply no other choice for me than the Seda. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your warm and hospital city.

Room Tip: Sorry don't want you occupying my awesome room with a view when I return hehehe
