I was looking for a hotel near the port area and this was one of the options that came out. I called and a room was available and so I went.
The taxi ride from SM was quite short and in a few minutes I was already checking in. The warm smiles complemented the cool looking interior, Bacolod wasn't dubbed as the City of Smiles for nothing.
I was given a room on the third floor. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't have an elevator. Fortunately for me, I needed a workout.
As the bellboy opened the door, I was greeted by a musky odor. Once I got used to the smell, I found the room okay - nice furniture, big room, hot and cold shower, cool but a bit noisy A/C. If one isn't choosy, it's a good room and it opens to a nice atrium if one wants a little sunshine amidst some greenery.
I didn't have that luxury, though. So after a few calls and texts, I was out of my room and onto the streets on my way to meet a client. I was there in no time, a testament to the strength of this hotel - its location. You step out into one of the City's busiest streets and have the option to take a jeepney (the Philippines mini bus) to wherever you want to go, even if it doesn't sound like it from inside your room.
Overall I'd say that it's value for money if one is not so choosy. Easy access, big rooms, okay WiFi and warm smiles as expected from the denizens of this city.
