very long road trip, very long boat rides.... but very worth it!! The entire island offers a 360 degree view of a very panoramic view of the sea, islands and sky! Make sure you have lotsa batteries in your phones and cameras!

Ready your wide lens or cellphones! This place is a must if you are an IG addict or a photography enthusiast. I just find it difficult to get there from Cebu because of ferry, bus, van and boat rides to get there. However to lessen the agony, you could try to ride a plane going to samar /leyte or anywhere that is near there and travel by land and boat after. The current is quite strong and might not be ideal for freediving and the coral reefs isn't that impressive. I haven't tried freediving on the otherside because i find it really dangerous because of the rocky stuff there. The island also offers scuba diving im just not sure if its worth it. The island doesnt have a freshwater, the restroom needs proper cleaning maintenance because it smells like pee. Bring loads of potable water because you will need it to counteract the steaming heat of the sun. You can stay in cottages or bring your own tent. Sunset is very nice. The orangey pink big round unflamed sun is definitely at its best. There's a convenience store but the price is expected to be very high because their products were from the mainland. Definitely a place to visit if you are already in Leyte. This place though is similar to gigantes island.

Was here early December 2018 but I felt like I’m in the month of summer! . It took us three hours from Tacloban to reach naval port and from there my guide took me all the way to sambawan island via motorboat banca for another two hours. Yes worth it, perfect to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The steps going up the hill is easy with a perfect view at the top. This island so quiet, very clean beach and offers some activities anyone can enjoy..

This is one of the places I’ve been dreaming of to see before 2018 ends. Determined to see this place, I searched for blogs how to get there. It’s not easy to find this place. It’s a bit disconnected from the mainland of Biliran Province so it’s important to bring with you food and water if you plan to stay overnight. I suggest to put on a tent instead of the cottages to better experience island life. The view is totally incredible. Postcard perfect.

Sambawan island is considerably virgin Hidden Gems of philippines when it come to tourism. If your planing for natural place out of your busy schedule then this is perfect place to camping under stars with rhythm of waves. Sambawan island offers the cleanest and clearest turquoise water beach with hundreds of spices of fishes you can see easily and interact with while snorkeling near shore but to get breathtaking view of this island you have to do little trek to get top of the mountain, the top view is enough To make you fall is love with nature and they shape of island is like god gave beautiful crown to this beach.
There is no as such hotels but they have facilities to stay or you can rent a tent.
