My wife and I went on a business trip to Cebu and my friend recommended Abaca Resort. We don't often check Trip Advisor for our travels and so we simply took our friend's recommendation. We were so impressed from start til the end.
We were picked up at the airport by their butler Anthony and were given cold towels to freshen up with and really cold bottles of water to drink. Anthony had so much information to share about activities and events happening around Mactan. Upon arriving at the resort, we were greeted by Raffy, the head butler and he gave us a tour around the grounds and then to our room. Check in was a breeze and all the staff were so friendly.
Our room was simply exquisite. The decor was impressive, the view from the balcony was breath taking and my favorite part was the bed. Upon laying on it, I never wanted to get up to do anything. I wanted to skip my lunch meeting in the city and just lay in bed the whole day. My wife was so happy with everything, she didn't waste anytime and started taking photos and videos of her experience.
We had lunch in Mandaue city and took a short tour of Cebu. All the while, my thoughts were just wanting to go back to the resort so I can enjoy the comforts of the bed and being pampered by the wonderful staff of the resort.
Dinner was a quiet and intimate affair with only a few guests in the restaurant. Bayani the restaurant manager I think he was, really took care of all of our needs, checking back several times without being intrusive. My wife and I enjoyed the several dishes we had from salad, appetizer and our main courses. We were so full that we didn't have any room left for dessert. I promised my wife we would try them on our next trip back to Cebu.
We slept like babies and enjoyed our breakfast in our room as we wanted to dine while looking at the great view from our balcony. The bread basket selection was really nice and the fruit platter had a great mix of fresh fruits. We took a dip in the pool afterwards and simply enjoyed our time out in the sun. We had to go back to the room to prepare for our flight home and we were saddened by the thought of leaving such a wonderful place so soon.
Abaca is simply amazing and I can't believe we never thought of coming here before. We will definitely come back and recommend this to our family and friends. Words can never fully describe this experience.
