My girlfriend and I love Rekado. We first ate here last year and were amazed by their kare-kare and lechon kawali. Fast forward to this year, I brought my girlfriend and my brother to eat again. While the food was still delicious, the portions were significantly smaller—about 50% less. I posted a comparison of the kare-kare and lechon kawali dishes: on the left is April 2023, and on the right is May 2024. You can see that the portions have literally halved or more.
Additionally, this time, the kare-kare had only one piece with actual meat, and it was very little. When we visited, there was an event, and we asked the server how long it would take for the food. The estimate was 15-20 minutes, but the food arrived in 25-30 minutes. It would have been fine if our expectations had been set correctly from the start, so we could have ordered appetizers since we were already hungry.
Overall, the food is still delicious, but please improve the portion sizes.
