Stayed at Discovery Suites for a long weekend Fri-Sunday. I used to stay here frequently in 2014-2016 when I often did business in Ortigas. The quality is still good, but has slipped a little
The good:
- The 2BR suite is spacious with comfortable furnishings. It’s definitely a bargain given the amount of space
- The sleep quality is excellent, very comfortable beds. Great pillows and bedding
- The bathrooms are large and well appointed. I personally loved the great water pressure and very soft towels
- The breakfast quality was great. It was also never overcrowded. Lots of choices and good quality.
- The pool was good. It’s surprisingly large. There is an attendant with pool towels. I only realized at the end that it is actually outdoors…you are in the city surrounded by high buildings and the Discovery overhang covers most of the pool, but it’s still nice to have the tropical warmth without getting rained on
- Prime 22 on the top floor is still one of the best steakhouses in Manila. The service is exceptional and everything we tried was very good. Make a reservation and get a table by the window
The not so good:
- Housekeeping is only Monday, Wednesday and Friday…which means if you are like me and saying Fri-Sunday you get no service…but they still managed to wake me at one point to get the trash

- Their car service is very expensive and has very limited options . Only a small car or a big van. plus they make you pay online for your airport pick up instead of just charging it to the room. They also told my airport pick up driver that my flight arrived at noon, despite the fact that I gave them everything showing it arrived at 1:35 PM, so this guy complains to me over and over again how he had been waiting since noon. Finally, unlike other high end hotels you have to call the car service when you arrive….there is no one meeting you with a sign - it was virtually impossible to hear the person over the traffic noise
- Service at breakfast is very very very bad. You can sit there forever and no one wicome to ask about coffee or tea, Even after you chase them down it takes forever to get
- Some people go out of their way to take care of you but overall the hotel constantly uses the excuse that they are understaffedMore
