The Coro Hotel Makati has absolutely disgraceful service and when I the staff here have no idea on how to treat customers and seem to be oblivious to the fact if they don't have customers they don't have a job.

When I arrived their staff arguing with customers and treating them with the utmost disrespect and all the other hotels in Manila have a 2 p.m. check in and yet they tried to tell us it was a 3 p.m. check in. When I questioned why I was told that's what we do here! They just didn't care. However when you go to sign their acknowledgement documents with your details it clearly states on that check-in is from pm not the dodgy 3 pm policies and poor customer service they were imposing onto customers.

Then they want to charge you 2 1/2 thousand pesos for a deposit which is ridiculous and excessive. I've stayed in many hotels in the Philippines and some of them don't charge any deposit and some of them charge 1000 why this hotel and it's ridiculous policies want to charge two-and-a-half thousand is nothing more than a rort. There is no snacks or mini-bar or anything in the room and there's no justification for such a high charge.

The check-in process was painfully slow and took an hour and 45 minutes my request for a room on a high floor was ignored and my request for a room away from the elevators was ignored and they put me right next to the elevator and when I went to the room and saw this and complained about it they put me in the room right next to the other side of the elevator!

The staff stood around while frustrated customers waited at the counter, and if I had to rate the customer service at this hotel it would get a 0 out of 10 and was an absolute disgrace for a 4 star hotel.

The rooms are a decent size and they offer tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, a bigger than normal bar fridge with a small freezer which was good. They provide dental kits, slippers but no bathrobes.

The beds are very firm and quite hard for my liking, however they do provide a number of pillows in different styles which were quite good.

There is a 40 inch LCD TV with a some English speaking channels.

The Wi-Fi wasn't working for the majority of the first day I was there. Finally when it was working it was of poor quality and dropped out quite often. Throughout my stay the Wi-Fi would just log you out and you would have to login again! Hardly what you would you expect in a 4 star hotel.

The bathrooms are a reasonable sized and they have a rainfall shower head and the water pressure is average but it takes a very long time for the water to get hot.

The air conditioning in the rooms is a little noisy but not to the point of being annoying.

There is no double glazing on the windows, (which are filthy on the inside),  and at night time you can hear the duff duff bass from the neighbouring nightclubs, and you can hear traffic and chooks clucking and crowing in the morning and you can even hear people talking and laughing in the next room. Again no soundproofing an extremely poor for a 4 star hotel I don't think this hotel is worthy of the 4 star rating more like 2 Star.

Again this is serious design fault for somewhere that claims to be a 4 star hotel which it does not make the grade in so many areas.

I went out for the day and came back after 4pm and my room still wasn't made up so I had to call reception and tell them to send someone to clean my room. When housecleaning come to make up your room they don't clean the shower screens which had soap stains and water marks left all over the glass screen and these big stains and marks remained for the first 4 days of my stay, showing the staff didn't clean the shower screens at all.

Then each day the housekeeping got worse and worse with less done, and on my fourth day arriving back to my room the bed looked like someone had been jumping on it, or sleeping on it and the amenities in the bathroom had not been replaced. One of the hand towels that was previously used was folded up & put back on the rack dirty. How disgusting!

The service & housekeeping in this hotel is not even deserving of 1 star. Its unacceptably disgraceful to call this a 4-star Hotel

This hotel is overpriced for what you get and the service is disgraceful and there are a lot better hotels with far better service in Makati and I paid less than half the price of this hotel another hotels and got more comfortable beds and rooms that were much quieter.

I would not recommend this hotel and doubt I would bother to return. It's way overpriced for the poor standards and for what you get.

This place drums up business by accepting customers with their dogs -- restricting them (supposedly) to only the 8th and 9th floors. You'll get a preview of what you're in for while waiting in the lobby for 3:00 pm check-in by the overwhelmed and disorganized staff. Rooms are pleasant, alhough smaller-sized than advertized. With cheap, single glass windows, street noise is atrocious: you will hear every vehicle and horn like it's in the room with you. Suites located in front are the worst for noise, but you'll hear it everywhere. Clientele largely filipino, younger, and families, and dogs. If you don't want that and the noise, skip this place. If you want a hotel where you won't get a good nights' sleep, you can find that nearby at a fraction of the cost.

Room tip: Unless coming with your dog, avoid this hotel.

Need to improve their system. A bit pricy. The room is quite nice and the air conditioning works well. It has all the toiletries but for 2 people only, even if you paid for 3 adults. You still have to follow up on it. Then they will ask for a 2K deposit, then the problem is if you lost the receipt they'd provided after check-in, you may not able to claim your 2K deposit, which is ridiculous because it was there in their system already, why do they still need the receipt? It's like modus that if you lost the receipt, they will not return your money and if you didn't argue with them.

Also, one foreigner checked in already and was in the lift when the hotel personnel wearing a polo shirt with the CORO name on it, approached her asking for her room number. The girl was a bit scared but tenacious, she said why you are asking for my room number, why don't you ask your receptionist. So, my husband helped the foreigner to stop the personnel from harassing her. My husband explained to the person what he was doing was bad and scary, especially to young/teen foreigners who will be checking in and alone.

The CORO hotel must improve its service. No need to ask for a receipt if they have all the information in their system. It's annoying and lots of time and effort is spent on that nonsense issue. Then the bellboys and/or guards of their hotels MUST not, do the receptionist duty. They should focus on their work only and on the welfare of their guest. It's a CORO hotel issue, if they don't have enough staff in the reception, they should hire more. Guards and bellboys should NOT ask for information like room number from the guest but rather ask from the receptionist or take orders only from the receptionist.

Room tip: Very near to a lot of pubs and restaurants.

Stayed for 2 nights. Rooms are good and comfortable. Staff was courteous. Ms Angel at front office was very kind.
Negatives:-
1. Hotel management is very stingy in providing amenities, i asked for shaving kit which was not available. Asked for shoe polish not available . Asked for a travel adapter not available. Quality of amenities in room were not 4* standard.
2. Not even a single sports channel on TV. Could not watch any football in room.
