Description: Corner Tree Cafe is a Vegetarian / Vegan Cafe. We serve food from Asia to Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas in a cosy intimate setting. We also offer good wines, local beers and some house cocktails. You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy our delicious food. In fact most of our customers are omnivores, but vegetarians will feel right at home here (we also serve some gluten-free dishes). To add to our regular menu, we have weekly specials sometimes inspired by current events or international days. Booking is advisable. Children welcome.

The first thing that threw us off was the service. As soon as we walked in the manager (we think) seemed to be annoyed at our presence. We asked where the bathroom was and she seemed annoyed. I asked where I could charge my phone and she pointed in the direction, again seeming annoyed. Might ave just been in the bad mood, at least the waiter was friendly. We ordered the Lumpia, tomato soup, spaghetti and meatballs, kare kareng gulay. The lumpia wasn't great, not terrible but just average. The tomato soup was way too dilute and the breadsticks that came with it were stale, the kare-kareng gulay was just too much peanut butter and didn't taste great. The spaghetti was good but the 3 "meatballs" that came with it were undercooked and cold. They might have better dishes but the food we received and the service we received were definitely disappointing, and the entire meal was pretty expensive.

First of all, many thanks for taking the time to write a review. Apologies for our staff's attitude. (she is our cashier) -- I sat down with her about this. She apologizes. She said she didn't realize that that was the appearance she gave -- she was just really busy but no excuses of course. She promises to be more aware and never to do it again. Thank you for pointing it out.
I agree about the soup -- we fixed that. The kitchen was doing it wrong -- the added stock where they shouldn't have. As for the kare-kare, I do like the flavour but it lacked sauce. We use fresh peanuts that are ground, but it shouldn't have been so thick -- I think they overcooked it that day. And no excuses for cold meatballs. These were all discussed with the staff. Your comments were very important to keep us in toe. Thanks a lot and I apologize for the unpleasant experience. Hope you come back to try other dishes.

Sincerely,
Chiqui Mabanta

PS. The pricing is as it is because of the cost of the ingredients -- we use high quality ingredients, organic vegetables, and lately, vegetable prices have skyrocketed. We are hoping prices stabilize -- they are crazy high now. :-(

Inside the shop andctheir meals are NOT what i will comment badly...they are good...sumptous, aroma you smell freshly done..... Now the bad part...

1. parking.
2. security in parking. (mostly vagrantsvor streetboys or so...)
3. dark... you seemed you are in Tagaytay or Antipolo ..overlooking the cities...nature...

But NO!!! you are looking at Jupiter Street... hustling, bustling.. traffic! And yesv1 security gusrd of this establishment only see on his post and WILL NEVER assist you...backing up your vehicle....

I would suggest bettrr keep its perimeter safe, more lights, guards 2 perhaps, ample parking space...

Oh... don't forget ...since it is near trees and dark looms of San Miguel Village emergency gate... beware and be ready...aside from mosquitoes...

Hi, thanks for your review and glad you liked the food but not sure it is fair to rate us badly for not having ample parking space -- we have more than most establishments on Jupiter with a narrow front. We are lucky we can accommodate more than the usual 2 or 3. Parking is always a challenge but this space was already there so we had to make do with it. It's not like we can rent more space for parking. Yes you need to back up carefully though, and although we don't have a security guard, someone (like our driver or other drivers) is usually around to help. This is the disadvantage we get for not being in a mall but I would still choose our location rather than a mall because as you mentioned, it is serene and has good ambience.
I wish you had rated us on our food and service. The other things you rated us on, we have no control of -- that we are on Jupiter St.. that we cannot afford 2 guards (it is a tiny cafe) but still glad you liked the food. Thanks!

Hands down. A lot of Indian places try to do it but this is the best. It’s not particularly placed in one cultural background... the mix is awesome..

They have Asian and western style foods. Quick service and nice staff

For a non vegetarian, I love its food . This is a place for health buffs and vegetarians even their water is alkali Must try its appetizer -spinach w/ricotta cheese & tofu burger steak. Resto is a bit small though. Reservation is recommended.

We were about to go to a diff. place for dinner last night when my bf and I passed by Corner Tree and thought it looked interesting. When it turned out the place we originally wanted to visit was closed for the day, we ended up going to Corner Tree and boy what a serendipitous encounter that had been.

We ordered the spanakopitas, a veggie starter plate, spinach lasagna, and baked tofu walnut burger. Everything was cooked to perfection. We also had lemongrass tea and orange-lemon sorbet. While the tea was a little too sweet to my liking (Note: Was a bit bummed to find out that the sugar cannot be served separate from the tea), the sorbet was an absolute joy to try.

Will def. come back with more friends to try more of their menu offerings.

Great to read your review!

Sorry about the lemongrass iced tea -- it comes from an organic farm and they mix it with muscovado sugar. I normally just dilute it more and add some lemon. You can do that next time :-)
Glad you made it to the cafe -- you were meant to come! :-)
Next time try the Arroz a la Cubana, Tofu Teriyaki / Veg Bibimbap or the Veg Chili :-)

Many thanks again!
