I'M Hotel
Stayed for 3 nights in their Premier Suite with breakfast booked via booking.com
Considering themselves as a 5-star hotel but lacking services that shows 5-stars
Room - the room was as pictured complete with your King size bed, a working kitchenette, a receiving area, a dining table for 2 and a nice bathroom with a bathtub
Cons:
-the a/c was a little hard to understand..room gets too cold even with the temp on a high and level 1 for the fan
-the hob for the kitchenette had no instructions on how to turn it on or it's not working at all
-the bathroom's heater smelled of burnt plastic if you try using the bathtub with warm water
-worst con was the wifi it was close to non-existent, constantly kicks me out even for just facebook browsing
Pros:
-loved the feather-filled cushions of the sofa
-tv access is available to mirror your phone or tablets
-thick hotel slippers
-I'd have to commend the housekeeping staff as they are very courteous and with them I've felt genuine service so thank you.
Check-in:
Pros: quick and seamless check-in procedure, you just need to present the ID and vaccination card for registration
Cons: would be nicer to have the computer monitors lowered so we can see the face of the team or ask them to stand. The plastic barriers at the counter would still ensure the safety of the team and the guests, but it would be a nicer experience to see who we are talking to
-Guest services (Dial 1) only starts a 8am, could be bec of a skeletal workforce but it is a 24/7 hotel and guests come in at all hours so shouldn't guest services be 24/7 as well?
In-Room Dining - in light of the pandemic they offer ala carte breakfast and dining options
Cons:
-supposedly open from 6am-10pm but had a hard time reaching out to them regarding breakfast (1st day:the night before breakfast was set at 7.30am but we received no advice and after reaching them at 8am to order breakfast we were told it'll take 45mins for a tapsilog and corned beef
2nd day: we received the call at 7.30am placed our orders but we received another call past 8am asking for orders, again. 3rd day: breakfast will only start at 9am because there was no chef available)
Truly understand that these are different circumstances with the pandemic but might as well don't offer it if it can't be consistent and done well. Wouldn't think of having myself quarantined here if this is how they treat leisure-staying clients.
-but thank you to Belle for trying to de-escalate a situation
Other amenities (Spa, Pool, Gym):
-in light of the pandemic, safety measures are observed and use of the facilities are by reservations only
Overall the cons, if taken separately may be petty, but if it covers your whole stay in a 5-star hotel, are disappointing. I would rethink to book again with I'm Hotel but I wish you have a different more positive experience as I have.
