We were a party of 21. Staff were very un-accommodating,discorteous and disrespectful. Our requests were very reasonable but the manner in which we were addressed was very unsatisfactory. We are definitely not going book our accommodations here.

Upon arrival by bus from Ilocos we were able to set up the shuttle to pick us up from the bus station. Perfect timing because the shuttle was able to identify us immediately and helped us to the shuttle service van. The ride was short and it cost us 300 Pesos for one way trip.
Check in was uneventful and was able to get into our room immediately. The following morning we were enjoying the cool breeze and fresh air until we were invaded by the stent of the kitchens Toyo cooking (a dried fish that has been dried fermented by salt) the strong smell invaded our room. I had to huffy to move our clothes to the living room because the strong smell will transfer to our clean clothing. I contacted the front desk to ask where the strong smell was coming from but the front desk did not know.It was avious the smell was from their kitchen because the entire part of the check in desk leading to the restaurant smells like our room.

We requested to change room which was granted without an issue. This time we were placed at the other wing of the building and the view was spectacular. The morning and evening sun rise and sunset at the balcony set the mood for relaxation.

Improvement suggested.:
*Upgrade the bathroom enclosure (door was so hard to close) it may have been the same door when the US owned the building.

*Upgrade the check out process, while we were in line to check out one of the agent approached us and was told to wait for 5 minutes so that they can check out the room to account for the incidental in the room. 15 minutes passed and no one came to us to inform us whether everything was fine. Once again we fall in line to check out and the desk clerk informed us once again to wait for 5 minutes. At this point my wife nerve and I was growing impatient.

* Advice to not use the laundry service the day before checking out. I had to elevated by inquiry to the manager to get my clothing back. It was delivered the evening of the day we check out. This was supposedly a same day service. Rule stated that if we sent our laundry before ten am we were able to get it the same day.
I had to call numerous times with the front desk clerk to find out when my laundry is to be delivered, their answer to us was that they will call us. This was since 2pm, 5pm and 6 pm. After speaking with the manager our laundry showed ups within 15 minutes.

Price wise, in comparison with Shangri-la, it was night and day. I give the dark side to the Manor for their inefficiency processes. The amount we paid per night at The Manor was about $100 more than Shangri-La The Fort in BGC. We were expecting to have better accommodations but we were disappointed.

The evening live music was positive. It was relaxing and enjoyable. Then Forest Lodge ambience for morning breakfast is quiet and the filipino food was fulfilling and affordable. In computation to morning breakfast at the Manor, their food was cold and some not edible. It was double the price of Forest Lodge.

Late Lunch and Dinner was good.

Then room are spacious and the bed were clean. I specially enjoyed the balcony facing the garden.

Room tip: Stay away from rooms located above the kitchen. Ask first and if it is, request to get another room away from the kitchen area.

Disappointed. Booked a room that had two double beds but instead was given a room with only one. Compromise was to give us an extra bed, which we agreed to. But the extra bed looked so flimsy, it almost seemed like it did not come from a 5-star hotel. Wifi is free BUT there is barely any signal in our room. Had to use data throughout our stay. One of the pillows was dirty and the room had ants. Concierge and room service were friendly, but the staff at the parking near Forest Lodge really ticked me off. He kept interrogating me about my room details, even asked about the room type we had which was TOTALLY UNNECESSARY. He only stopped when I showed him my room card. I asked the guard from the Le Chef's side and said that his name is Ken Dulay. Even with the mask on, he seemed pissed. He had a particular look I can't seem to get over with. So much so I had to write his name here. I understand that the hotel is supposed to be strict since there is a fee for those who are not checked in, but not at the expense of the guests' comfort. Set-up in the garden is beautiful and this is the OG hotel in CJH, but not planning to book this hotel again anytime soon.

Have stayed in the hotel for New Year's Eve. For a 5-star hotel, this hotel feels 3-star. If I paid for a room which states it has 2 double beds, I expect to have a room with 2 double beds. We went to our room and shocked to only have 1 double bed. We were given an extra, very hard single bed and were very disappointed. Aside from that, the wifi was incredibly slow. 5-stars feels incredibly overrated and I really think the only reason why The Manor is #1 right now is because it has stayed for so long that people regard it as the premier hotel in Baguio, even if a lot of comments say otherwise in tripadvisor. You can get better rooms at The Forest Lodge. The staff is nice and friendly though. But management must do something about this.

Still the hotel to beat! Service is unparalleled and hotel staff are its assets. We have stayed with them for 2 nights and was taken care of from our checkin until checkout. All hotel staff are commendable and are all welcoming. If you want to relax, this is the best place to stay. Will def come back again. Thank you for making our holidays the best it could ever be.

Room tip: Avoid heading out to the city during the busy season bec you will definitely get caught up in traffic jam.
