Exceptional Service!
What I love most about The Plaza Lodge Baguio is the attentiveness of the staff. They are all courteous, proactive and customer-centric. They make you feel that you are not only a priority but as if you are the only guest in the hotel. I travelled with my daughter.
I wanted to buy ube jam from Good Shepherd and I was told that I needed to line up 7am at Good Shepherd even when it would open 9am because it gets sold out fast. Their breakfast buffet is from 7am-10am. I thought that I could catch the buffet breakfast after buying ube at the Good Shepherd but the line was so long and it was traffic getting to the hotel and also found out that there was a cap of 2 bottles of ube per head! So I called up the hotel and requested for help that 1 they would get a cab for my 14 year old daughter so she can go to Good Shepherd safely and pack breakfast for us. This was an unusual request because it was a breakfast in house buffet. But because they aimed to delight, they packed breakfast and drinks for me and my daughter. I especially commend Robert for making this possible. Starving in line where I can’t leave or lose my place wasn’t a joke so I was grateful!

When I noticed nails sticking out of the drawers, I immediately called reception and they sent over their engineering to fix it asap.
Welcome Drinks
It was lovely that when you arrive, you will be served welcome drinks and light appetizer.
The only downside is that you have a lot of luggage and there was no table to place the glass or plate.
CLEAN and IMPECCABLE
Because the hotel was built 2020 it was only 2 years running. Considering the pandemic where less guests were accommodated, it looked VERY NEW.
The room I booked was a premiere room. The amenities published were 1 double bed and 1 queen bed. But to my surprise, we were upgraded to 2 queen beds! How lovely!
The bed was as comfortable as a 5 star hotel with 2 pillow each bed. I later on learned that they bought the same bed and beddings as that from Shangrila Hotel.
The bathroom was spacious with a classy BRAVAT sink. Sadly though, they don’t have a bathtub for a premiere room which would have made it perfect.
All Towels were pristine white.
BALCONY
I loved that we have a balcony to enjoy the chilly weather. What was missing were chairs and a table.
COUCH
I especially liked that they have an L couch in the room. Being OC, we don’t lie on the bed immediately without washing up. The couch allowed us to rest and settle down before washing up.
SHOWER HEAD
It has an overhead shower and a hand held shower.
MASSAGE SERVICES
The Plaza Lodge Baguio is affiliated with Asian Massage so I was delighted that after an exhausting day of touring with aching feet and body we could book even as late as 12am! Asian Massage therapists are experts. You can request for Alyn and Crisel.
Areas for improvement
1. Parking is steep and really tight. A bit scary for inexperienced drivers but the guards carefully help you.
2. I was surprised to know that there was no aircon in our room when I specifically chose rooms with aircon. They informed me that 1st 4 floors had aircon. Being on a higher altitude the temperature was cool enough to manage the room. While it was true for early morning and evening, it became warm lunch time. We stayed in 3rd day so I can pack. To make us comfortable, they brought in a big fan to have a cool breeze circulating inside.
3. 1 chair. I think they should at least have 2 chairs as we need chair that matches the height of the table for eating.
4. Tissue at the buffet was a surprise. It was cut out of toilet paper which didn’t really send out a good signal because that meant someone cut it by hand and held it and for you to use it to wipe your mouth while eating.
5. Don’t expect a delightful buffet. Their buffet breakfast is simple. Eggs, 3-4 filipino viands which covers pork, beef, chicken, fish, simple cereals, bread and coffee. Various fruits oh they serve grapes so that was a surprise also hummus on toast which I enjoyed.
6. Wifi is slow so it can be frustrating that I would use my data.
All in all it was an experience that would make me
1. Definitely want to stay in the hotel again
2. Recommend to friends and family
If I were to rate it, it would be a 4.5 out of 5.
Thank you Plaza Lodge Hotel for a wonderful stay with very few hiccups.More
