Owner description: Ipoh World (IpohWorld) is an education-based, not-for-profit organisation established in 2004 to promote awareness and appreciation of Perak, the Silver State of Malaysia and its unique, diverse and rich heritage, with particular focus on Ipoh and the Kinta Valley. In 2006 we ran our first public exhibition "The Story of Ipoh: From Feet to Flight", in cooperation with Darul Ridzuan Museum. Since then, supported by sponsorship, we have run several more exhibitions while continuing to seek further financial support for a permanent, lively and interesting heritage gallery for Ipoh, thus enhancing both education and tourism. This current project, our first permanent, museum quality exhibition is our first step to fulfilling this objective. Advance booking is recommended as space in the building is limited. You may book via our website by clicking on Exhibitions or by the QR Code on our brochure. It is quick and easy and you receive a booking confirmation by return.

It's a good tour which gives a good overview of Ipoh's history. We found it very interesting and a nice break from the morning heat.

Dear Lisa B, thank you for taking the time in writing about your visit to Han Chin Pet Soo. Being housed at the old hakka tin miners' club, we found it only apt to tell the story of the people and industry that helped develop Ipoh. We hope you enjoyed the experience and tour, see you again some time soon!

My son organized a trip for the family to visit Ipoh and one of the main attraction highly recommended by others is the Ipoh World at Han Chin Pet Soo. It is indeed one of the most enlightening trip I had in Malaysia, having an excellent tour guide with a good knowledge of history on the Hakka tycoons in Ipoh

This well preserved shoplot near the center of Kong Heng Square has a mission to inform, educate and entertain even the most jaded museum goer. And it does it wonderfully well and matched and even exceed the standards of the west's foremost museums. It starts from the early migration of Chinese out of China and dives deep into the economics of tin-mining with in-depth and objectively researched presentations. Combining professional guides with well curated multimedia, visitors will emerge all the wiser about modern Malaysia and how Ipoh played the crucial role in its social economic formation. Definitely and persistently to be voted as the best of the bests things to do not only in Ipoh but in South East Asia eventually.

Highly recommended as the first stop for your trip to Ipoh to appreciate the history and architecture of Ipoh. Remember to pre-book online for the tour to avoid disappointment as it is strictly by appointment as it is a tour limited to 20 paxs at one time.

I passed by this place in the past but didn't book hence only managed to visit on this trip.

Thank Joyce K

Dear Joyce K, thank you for taking the time in writing about your visit to Han Chin Pet Soo. Being housed at the old hakka tin miners' club, we found it only apt to tell the story of the people and industry that helped develop Ipoh. Although we do welcome walk-in visitors subject to availability of tours, we'd always encourage our visitors to book ahead to avoid disappointment as it tends to be crowded on school holidays and the weekends. We hope you enjoyed the experience and tour, see you again some time soon!
