I would expect not less than wow, so wonderful and top of it class when I booked this hotel... simply because it is ST REGIS.

Let simplify my review into categories

Check-In ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ : Refreshing welcome drink and personalise check in by the receptionist. We were shown around by our butler.

Room ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Upgraded to suite. This is the last room in the building (no. 321) I think, so it was far from everything (the pool, the restaurant, beach). We don't mind cause we have the buggy service whenever we don't feel like walking. Room was great, spacious, very clean, awesome view.

Hotel amenities ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: The personal butler will meet your request , you just need to 'command'. We have asked for difference pillow type, warm milk for coffee, setup of bubble bath, buggy and help with luggage.

Breakfast ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Top of its class. You can't missed this. Champagne is served.

Other restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️: Very pricey to dine so we didn't eat in any of the restaurant. The kayupunti has very nice ambience and seaview and I heard the chef was from St Regis, Singapore. The bar was dead quiet at Sat night, 10.30-11 pm. Live band also end early. Not much of night life

Beach ⭐️⭐️⭐️: Did the hotel import sand from oversea? Not impressive. Don't expect blue sea and white sand.

Airport transfer ⭐️⭐️⭐️: It was advertised guest to be pick up by Bentley or luxury cars. No Bentley despite I requested reception to book Bentley for my departure 48 hours in advance. The concierge told me it was miscommunication. Guest must informed the concierge if you want to book Bentley otherwise end up with Alphard. Not sure if you consider Alphard as luxury car but the rides to airport was bumpy. Not happy ☹️ but my hubby still tip the driver.

Kid friendly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Kid can use the kid club in Westin Hotel. Added advantage.

St Regis Airport lounge ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Very small area and get crowded fast. No hot food just cakes, sandwiches, cookies but decent selection of drinks. Fast Wifi.

Other tips:
i) There is Bentley buggy and normal buggy. The formal was better.

ii) Ask you personal butler to introduce nice eating places. I think they do better job than the concierge.

Vacations are all about memories - one horrible incident and that's all you talk about for years to come. But one "wow" moment like we had with the concierge at St Regis Langkawi, makes the entire trip a great memory!!! My wife had forgotten to bring a part for her medical device and was FRANTIC. There was no way (so we thought) to find this on an island resort, on a public holiday when everything was closed. But we called concierge, and Saravana Govenden pulled some magic dust, incredibly found this one item and convinced the shop owner to drive back and open her shop just for us!!! It represents what St Regis stands for - going out of their way to make ours. We've seen it echoed time and again during our stay.

This one decidedly deserves an excellent mark.

The airport pick up was super smooth. We were promptly greeted by a pleasant lady at the airport and quickly ushered to a waiting Bentley. Nice touch.. The chauffeur was suitably polite and never spoke unless spoken to. At the hotel, we were assigned a butler whom promptly took care of our needs.
The architecture and interior decor of this new hotel are outstanding and meets the mark of a '5 star plus' establishment. A blend of an indistinct moorish architecture and a European decor and furnishing.

As the prices will tell you, you would readily expect some level of luxury. And they certainly didn't disappoint. The airport pick up, check in, breakfast, room service, the spa and services at the pool were all suitably classy. We had a nice suite overlooking the Andaman Sea, and what looked like some neighbouring islands.

Nevertheless, the most outstanding and valuable to us, was definitely the quiet and subtle pleasantries of most of the hotel staff..

The hotel fixed a nice small but new car for 2 of us to get to town. A total 2.5 hour trip for a quick lunch and a shopping stop only costed us RM80. Reception staff, Ismail and Jojo were genuinely helpful when we wanted to cancel our booking with another hotel and extended our stay at St Regis!

There were obviously some minor downsides, but these wouldn't affect our 5 star rating,
- food are pricey. But, there's a convenient buggy service to the neighbouring Westin Hotel, if you must, for normal priced restaurants. It only took 5 minutes and staff at Westin would be happy to shuttle you back to St Regis anytime. There's also a good and more reasonably priced spa at Westin, if you like.
- it has a nice secure private lagoon, but if you're looking to a white sandy beach, this isn't an ideal spot.
- a couple of times, the cleaners came at unsuitable hours. I would suppose, a quick call to the room prior to the planned clean up would be much more appropriate for this sort of hotel.

I would imagine, there would always be naturally whiny hotel guests whom are almost impossible to please, hence some complaints might distort your take on this property.

Overall, if you're looking for a tranquil, classy and friendly place for a short stay, this is the right destination.

I booked a "Seduction" package and was expecting a great above expectations (SURPRISING) experience. However I would say that they barely met an EXPECTED level and was rather at a BASIC level of service.

It was an important stay for us as I had proposal plans. I will start with the pros as they really tried to step up their service and was eventually at an EXPECTED level.

I booked a 4 night 5 day package. And this was my first trip to Langkawi.

Pros
- They tried hard after day 2 to appease us and to deliver what I paid for as a package
- Room 120 was perfect. Requested for s room change and received it.
- Kayaputi restaurant is a gem. Great views of the sunset, nice great band, great service. That is the standard I know and expected of a St Regis property.
- Cabana dinner was well managed.
- Friendly pool bar staff - gave me a cup of lemon water while I was in the beach lapping in the water and I was really far away! great service!
- Jan and Marcel (and their team) displayed good service attitude - was rewarded with 2 bottles of wine from myself! Please keep up the standard.
- Requested for a Bentley, got at least one transfer.
- in room dining was great as expdcted.
- loved the hammock on the beach, nice beach could be better if maintained better- too much trash.

Cons
- Did not get a romantic entrance - the experience of a romantic stay was ruined - that was very disappointing.
- only delivered after spending almost 4 hours talking to everyone. Actions only executed after day 2.
- SPG staff was not pleasant and asst. Manager did not make us feel invited. Would rather talk to the monkeys who invaded our room on our last 2 days.
- fresh flowers were only delivered from day 3 - did not meet expectations too.
- some butlers were really trying hard but really need to step up the service level.
- overall was a poor experience due to tainted perception on entry to the resort.
- room 112 was horrid - deck chairs were in the way of the walkway. Avoid this room!

I gave 4 stars as Jan and Marcel was providing a good level of service.

If not for them, I would have given 2 stars at most, for the décor of the location.

Should be a SPG 5 or 6 if really rated on the SPG scale.

My wife and I were married here in May. We had the presidential suite, Penthouse suite, pool villa and deluxe rooms. All rooms were absolutely gorgeous. Very large and appointed with everything you could need.

The staff are lovely and do absolutely everything to try and make your trip as memorable as possible.

The hotel is beautiful and has all the facilities you could wish for. The spa is excellent as are the restaurants. Nothing was too much trouble.

The breakfast is excellent. Even with 6 children in our party ranging from 9 months to 10 years old everyone was more than catered for.

We would like to thank the hotel staff for helping to make our special day perfect.
