One of the best resorts we ever stayed. Great architecture of the buildings, very cool interior design of rooms and public areas, outstanding breakfast, superfriendly staff, huge Kidsarea. Strongly recommended for lovers of classy locations!

We stayed here for three nights. The hotel is brand new and it is located in a paceful bay, surrounded by nature and the gorgeous rainforest.
The rooms are spacious and furnished with a very good style.
The entire staff is very kind and attentive.
The food is great especially the breakfast with a great variety to choose from.
I definitely recommend this hotel.

The Hotel was only opened about a month before our arrival. Work was still ongoing around the property. However the check in went smoothly enough and after the formalities a buggy took us to our accommodation. As was to be expected everything still looked very new. The room was nicely decorated , the bathroom area functional and spacious. The bed was comfortable with a choice of aircon or ceiling fan. A nice veranda facing southwest gave a nice afternoon sun.
This is a resort with potential once the teething problems are overcome.
The Staff is very friendly and they do their best, but the service is still not good enough for a Hotel in this price class. One afternoon by the pool next to the Beach Grill we ordered coffee, tea and some pastries. The coffee and tea took over 10 minutes and the pastries 45 minutes as they were coming from the Langkawi Kitchen far up the hill.

Our dinner on our day of arrival at the Beach Grill was very poor. Later we were told that the Italian Chef happened to be away that evening. Still poor show.
Down by the beach there is very little shade and no fans, so one can hardly spend time there during the day, which is why we hardly saw anyone there during our 4 night stay. The Management told us that they are currently working on a solution for the fans.
Good points were the excellent breakfast served at the Langkawi Kitchen. Very good !
Also good was the Chinese restaurant Hai Yan perched at the waters edge , from where you can see the sun sinking into the Andaman Sea. Also note that both the Langkawi Kitchen and the Hai Yan are airconditioned whilst the Beach Grill is not and can therefore be sweltering.

Would I come again to this Hotel ? I really dont know. They do not offer more than the Four Seasons, The Datai, The St Regis. Maybe it would come down to value for money. But it is too early to say only 4-5 weeks after the official opening. Good luck to the Management there is plenty to do.

Room tip: Choose a beach villa with your own pool

I can’t wait to go back to the RC Langkawi in a year or two once it has found its footing. This hotel has sooo much potential to be a true five star and I know it will be soon!

When we visited we stayed for four days knowing it would have some teething issues. And boy, did it. Many of the reviews nailed it spot on below with regards to the poor, slow service. That definitely stood out. It was painful having dinner in the hotel knowing how long it would take to get some wine or food. We ate at the Four Seasons twice because of this. We just wanted some TLC and service!! First night at the pool restaurant---took 45 minutes to get the wine and water. Once the food came there was no cutlery or napkins and we had to get up ourselves to do so. Oooooof!! Not what you want to do on holiday. In general throughout the stay, our wine choice was hardly available. Painful when you have to deal with staff who take ages to go back and forth.

The beach was super lovely. Our favorite part! But there was just no service. One day we literally never got any water or the small basket of water, towels and lotions. The hotel in general was close to empty so this really was disappointing. I don’t want to imagine what will happen once it is actually busy.

One night in the Chinese restaurant we were literally the only people in the restaurant (no joke) and the messed up the order. Oof.

For the positives, the rooms are SPECTACULAR. We had a junior suite and my oh my was it incredible. Too bad the balcony didn’t have much of view but everything else was impeccable. The toilets!! Weird to rant about a toilet, but it is the Toto Japanese toilets but it even had a blue night light so you can see where you are going in the dark. Too good.

Beach is gorgeous, the horizon bar has potential to be a buzzy spot on the island, the fitness center was lovely and new and the breakfast buffet was beautiful and delicious. There are lots of great potentials here, just need to give it time. I honestly am looking forward to coming up.

I mentioned these concerns to the manager who was more than friendly and understanding and thoughtful. Good luck and hope to see the RC again soon!

I cannot say enough about the Ritz Carlton Langkawi (cliche, but true).

My girlfriend and I spent a few nights at another hotel in Langkawi. We decided to stay a night at the Ritz Carlton,we are Ritz Carlton platinum members and were curious about their brand new hotel. As expected their website made it look like an oasis, however, reviews on Tripadvisor were mixed. I've never said this, but I could not be happier to have ignored those negative reviews. The first day there was so wonderful that we extended our stay for a total of 3 days!

Before our stay I was sent an email from to see if there was anything we would require. The only thing I said was that it was my girlfriend's birthday and i wanted to book her a massage at the spa. As soon as we arrived they greeted us with a stroke of a gong and a local welcome drink. Check In was a fairly easy process. I had originally booked a standard room, but upon checkin we were told that our room was upgraded to a rainforest villa.

After Amirul checked us in, he gave us a quick tour of the property on the way to our room. When we got to our door we were absolutely stunned - for me it was the beauty of the villa and for my girlfriend, it was the birthday cake she was greeted with! The villa was very spacious and relaxing but the best part was having a private pool that peered through the rainforest and overlooked the ocean. After a few hours we decided to stay an extra night. As soon as we booked our room, we called Amirul to let him know of our intention to extend our stay after speaking to a manger they happily let us stay in the same villa!

On our second night we we're invited to the Horizon (which had just opened) for a complimentary drink by Amirul. That night, they had reserved a spot for us to watch the sunset and then moved us over to a cozy table for dinner. Before either one of us could look at a menu the entire Horizon staff came to our table with a cake and sang happy birthday to my girlfriend! Soon after they poured us a glass of champagne and wished her many blessings. It is a night that we will never forget and one that we wished would last.

We were so impressed with our experience we ended up staying 3 nights instead of the 1 we originally intended.

The staff at the Ritz Carlton Langkawi became family. They quickly learned our names, and our favorite drinks and foods (which by the way, the food was excellent). No matter what time of day it was, you we're always greeted with a smile and a quick story about life on the island. Their hospitality was greatly appreciated and truly missed. I am not sure you can find kinder staff members at any resort, In fact, when we arrived at the airport to catch our flight back to KL, our good friend Amirul was there waiting for us. He had came to say goodbye and give my girlfriend a birthday present! This was hospitality and kindness that goes beyond anything we have experienced in the past and we have stayed in some great resorts.

I honestly could get lost going on about how great the staff is, or how good the food was (breakfast was great, as was the Ritz Carlton Reserve Barons de Rothschild that accompanied it). Or how the property is simply beautiful - often times giving the illusion that the architecture and nature are one. Which is most notable with their infinity pool by the Horizon and cabins that peak through the surrounding greenery.

I could go on and on about our stay, but you have to experience it for yourself. If you're still not convinced, give it some time while they work out some kinks but don't miss a chance to stay at this property! Its up there with some of the most prized Ritz Carlton Reserve resorts we have been lucky enough to stayed at.

Thanks again for your hospitality, and we would love to thank Amirul, Sharifah and the rest of the gang.
We truly can't to visit again!

Room tip: The villas are exceptional.
