Just a two minute walk across a plaza from the train station, this nicely kept hotel is ideal for exploring Takamatsu and the environs. It is one of the tallest buildings in the city and higher floors have commanding views. The ferries to Naoshima and other islands are minutes away by foot, and the covered shopping arcades are similarly close by. A light rail train station is across the street and takes you to the amazingly beautiful Ritaurin gardens (a world-class, not to be missed experience...leave 1.75 hours at least in the garden to do the walks).
Our room was decent sized with a king bed, fresh and seemed renovated. Amenities were nice enough and the bed comfortable. Don’t expect robes or welcome bottles of water or unexpected treats, but there were pajamas provided along with plenty of outlets for charging devices and a free smart phone to use while in town with maps and a browser.
Breakfast was fine and had many offerings. It was busy but an easy start to the day.
There really didn’t seem to be a better choice of hotel in the city and I would stay here again without hesitation. It’s really a very nice three star hotel more than a true four star but we were happy and have pretty tough standards.More
