It was a last minute booking because the price was good and it's near to the JR Station. It's an easy walk from the train station, however, due to no English words on its sign board my friend and I actually missed it and walked another 2 blocks. Apart from this little inadequacy in not putting up the sign in English, the rest of the hotel stay was a pleasant & refreshing experience....from getting to choose our pillows, the in-house onsen and the healthy but delicious breakfast included at no extra cost. The staff were helpful & friendly as well. They really tried to live up to its Super Hotel name.

Stayed in the room with loft bed. Room is very spacious compared to the normal twin room. Breakfast spread was good. Hotel is a bit far from train station but still walkable. Overall, it was a good stay.

Thank you for staying with us at Super Hotel Hakodate.

Super Hotel is one of typical Japanese business hotels and it has 121 hotels in Japan.
Rooms are small, room size is just 12sqm and 150cm wide bed is inside.

Super Hotel is researching "Sleep" with Osaka Prefecture University and results are applied for selective pillows and so on.
We try to keep room clean every day as our motto is 「Safety, Cleanliness and Comfort」, although Super Hotel Hakodate is more than 10 years old.

The location is 10 minutes from JR Hakodate station, 2 minutes from tram station, 2 minutes from airport limousine bus stop and it is walking distance to morning market.
In addition as our hotel is located between Goryokau and Hakodate-yama, it will be good for sightseeing, although Super Hotel is a business hotel.

Considering breakfast of Super Hotel it is known as health breakfast, since organic materials are used a lot.
Especially Organic JAS vegetables are very expensive.
We keep improving ourselves to satisfy hotel guests.

It's definitely a discount hotel. I stayed in spring with my son. We wanted to see the cherry blossoms and the fish market. The location is very good. The fish market is a very short walk. The rooms are very very small, even by Japanese standards. The bed was 80% of the room I would estimate. The bathroom is tiny. I'm 5'4 and I found it tight. A 5'10" foreigner is going to find it very challenging.

The staff are very nice and helpful. That's true of most of Japan however. :). It's a decent place to stay is you are Japanese sized and don't plan to spend any time in your room.

This is my second time staying in Super Hotel Hakodate. Cheap room rate includes nice breakfast. Although breakfast is simple and not much food to choose, it's tasty and better than other chained business hotels. Hot spring is simple and only allows maximum 6 people, it's not really a problem because it's not so attractive. Walkable distance from JR station and major sightseeing points. There is a big drug and cosmetic store just opposite to the hotel. Two different convenient stores are nearby. Room is standard Japanese hotel room size without any expectation. It's clean and tidy. Comfortable bed and pillow fits its subject" healthy and good sleep at night". Recommended!

Japanese hotels seem to be in competition to cut facilities and charge higher and this one is no exception .
Hotel is not in walking distance unless you are willing to drag your luggage for nearly a kilometre from the station . You need to take tram and travel to the next stop ...to find the hotel which has no sign in english on top and you keep on asking people only to find Super Hotel written on glass with cars parked in front .
Then the usual Japanese refusal to give room before 3 p.m. and you reach your room to get shock after paying US $ 250.00 a day this is just a cubicle where bathroom has been fitted three hangers on wall( no cup board ) just 2 tooth brush ( no toiletries) .
Iron and iron board can be used only at reception not in room !
Thank fully staff understood and spoke passable english .

Thank you for staying with us at Super Hotel Hakodate.

Super Hotel is one of typical Japanese business hotels and it has 118 hotels in Japan.
As you mentioned rooms are so small (around 12 sqm!), therefore, we are sorry for the inconveniences caused to you.
We try to keep room clean every day as our motto is "Safety, Cleanliness and Comfort", although Super Hotel Hakodate is more than 10 years old.

Super Hotel is Eco-First company, certified by Ministry of the Environment, and it is the only one Eco-First company in hotel industry.
We do many activities in order to reduce CO2.
So we don't put enough toiletries in rooms. When guests need a razor and a pajama for example, they can take them from 1F.
When guests need more hangers, we give enough hangers at front desk.
When guests bring unused tooth brushes at front desk, we give sweets as guests contribute to ECO.
You are right we don't have enough explanations to foreign tourists in English.

The distance is within a 10-minute walk from JR Hakodate Station as written in websites.
We make room cleanings during 10:00-15:00 and we don't have empty rooms usually.
Considering price it was the highest season called Golden Week in Japan. Other hotels raised price 3 - 5 times and we raised double.
(By the way the best price is through official site.)

Once again thank you very much for your comments spending your precious time.
