They had a fairly big sized lounge where hotel guests can get free coffee/tea. I got some instant noodles with hot water from the coffee machine. Sat at the counter table eating noodles while looking at the snowy streets. Comfortable beds. Hotel is also extremely near Lucky Pierrot (must-try fast food in Hakodate)

Stayed in 5 different hotels throughout my trip and have to say that this hotel is the best for value in terms of cost and comfort; a pity we only stayed for a night. Around S$140/night, the semi-double room is one of the slightly more spacious ones we've gotten, compared to other hotels. Room was clean and comfortable, and front desk was very friendly and helpful. Bonus points for the free tea/coffee/comfortable lounging area at the lobby.

Location was great as well, only a 3-5 minutes' walk from JR Hakodate Station. Daimon Yokocho - a collection of eateries, is also 5 minutes from the hotel. The Hakodate morning market is a 3 minutes' walk from Hakodate station. There is also a tram stop near the hotel - to travel to Fort Goryokaku.

All in all highly recommended - conveniently located as a base to explore Hakodate.

This is an older property, but the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-maintained. A previous guest had smoked in my room, so the staff brought in a portable electronic air freshener, which solved the problem. As mentioned by previous reviewers, the hotel is near the JR station (walk to the end of the plaza towards the brown Boni building, turn right and it's there ... about 5 minutes). Hakodate's Morning Market is similarly close, too. The adjacent Boni complex offers a variety of shops. In the basement is the Hasegawa store, where you can buy box lunches, or bento, and other food. The hotel's buffet breakfast (1,300 JPY in advance; 1,500 JPY at the door) is worth the money. There's freshly grilled salmon, mackeral, teriyaki pork skewers, sashimi, etc. There also are western options, including scrambled eggs and pastries. I especially liked the chocolate danish. The restaurant is on the 10th floor, offering a view of Hakodate's harbor. In short, I enjoyed my stay.

Room tip: Rooms are quieter in the back of the building, away from the street.

Great location, Less than 5 min walk to Hakodate station! Tram (street car) across the road.

Nice comfortable room, decent shower.
Reception staff didn't speak much English so was difficult to talk to them, but they were friendly and willing to help. There is a bar in the hotel at the top with a nice view but they had an extra cover charge so we didn't go. They should at least remove that charge for people staying at the hotel.
